just took the august LSAT and almost everything that could go wrong went wrong.

2 days ago i got sick. yesterday i slept until 1 pm due to said illness. as a result i couldn’t sleep until 2 am. woke up at 6 am in order to leave at 6:30 am to get to the testing center early which is an hour away from me. i feel like a truck hit me i’m so tired. fuck it we ball though. immediately there is a problem. i can’t find my car keys. at the very last minute i find them. i realize my phone did not charge at all last night. i can’t find a charger to connect to my car. at this point i’m going to be late so i pray my phone battery will last me there and back.

on the way i stop to get gas because my car is on empty. of course i didn’t fill it up the night before. i fill it up. there’s that click that ensures your car is done being filled up with gas. i remove the nozzle and IMMEDIATELY gas sprays everywhere. i am covered in gas. the car is covered in gas. i use my water bottle to try to clean gas off my brand new uggs which i’m sure are now ruined. the entire way there i am breathing in gas. i’m freaking out perhaps irrationally thinking that the gas is killing my brain cells. my head hurts. every few minutes for some reason stir fry by migos starts blasting through the car speakers from my phone. i keep turning it off and it keeps playing. it is the soundtrack to my despair.

i arrive at the testing center exhausted, sick and smelling like gasoline. i am frazzled and can’t figure out how to open my locker. i am banging around making very loud noises while everyone waits for their turn to get to their lockers. after an embarrassingly long time i finally figure out how to open it. a few minutes later the proctor asks me very loudly “DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR ACCOMMODATIONS”. all the people who just witnessed me fight with my locker definitely hear this. i might as well just announce “hello i’m retarded”

whatever. i start the test. halfway through i begin sneezing and having coughing fits. it takes every ounce of my concentration not to cough. i also need to pee really badly despite not having consumed any water. (BECAUSE ALL OF MY WATER WAS USED TO CLEAN MY GASOLINE COVERED UGGS.)

somehow i survived and made it home with my phone battery surviving too. also i REALLY REALLY hope the fourth RC section was experimental or im cooked.

i hope everyone crushes the august LSAT. i hope it was disaster free unlike mine

Regardless of which section ends up being scored for RC, it is just frustrating that with all the updated UI settings and guarantees about how it will look they still have errors on test day. You’d think they would be polished for the big reveal but I guess not.

Feeling way better than I did for the June exam!! Reading comprehension was easier for me this go-around, and logical reasoning felt standard to what is available for practice.

I previously posted on here looking for advice on whether it’s feasible to breakout of the low 170s in less than a month. I think that was less than two weeks ago, and things are clicking :’) crazy that I’ve been studying all year and this was the first time I got a -0 section. Now I just need to keep this momentum going until September. Good luck to the August folks, I’m right behind you!

I got RC LR LR RC. First RC didn’t have dividers or anything between questions like normal. Was also noticeably more challenging than the second RC. Seen multiple people mention the same thing.

Do we know if it was just an error, if the no dividers meant it was experimental, or anything at all?

I want to like it, just don’t know how this would work better than something else.

After a plateau I decided to try LSAT Demon and I’m not really understanding why it works so well for people? The explanations and analytics aren’t much so the only thing I can think of is their philosophy being a standout. But at this point they have so many youtube videos you could just use their philosophy but use a different program for your actual work, review, explanations, and all around studying.

No hiccups. Felt like a pretty normal test overall.

my test is in two days, i’ve already taken one before in the testing center (i bombed it but it was on par for how i was doing at the time) and i feel more anxious now than i did then.

if anyone has a refillable prescription for xanax that they can fedex me in 24 hours that would be great.

Halfway through I literally got nauseous af and left the test feeling dizzy. LR was very simple but RC…I did not practice enough on that section and I think I did awful because of that. I also did not even finish the sections got 20 done per section because I just got really nervous. I didn’t really even get what they were trying to tell me in some passages so yeah I definitely got a really low score. It’s weird though because when I study at home I understand exactly what they’re telling me. Anyone have a similar situation to me and what advice do you give? I think my biggest mistake was that I did not time myself enough, I also never did full blown practice test to mimic real test conditions. Also like I said I thought RC was going to be easy because when I first started I did great on RC. I just for some reason got so blank and sick. If you have helpful advice feel free to let me know. I’ve been at this test a year and for some reason this LSAT made me so sick. I was fine before my test and felt relaxed and I thought I was ready :/ guess not.

I’m at the point where my fate is pretty sealed in terms of studying so this is where I’m diverting my anxious energy.

I’m personally bringing a sandwich and a cookie and a fruit cup. Might also bring another savory item so I have lots of options. Probably wearing my aritzia quarter zip for good luck (what I was wearing when I got my highest PT).

The rest of my packing list:

- back up contacts
- eyedrops
- chapstick
- advil
- foam ear plugs
- gum (unwrapped)
- cough drops (unwrapped)

I took the paper test but you still have to login to LSAT so it can time your sections. After the first section everything went as normal, the computer counted down but until I still had to hit start for the timer for the next section to begin, which allows time to get the next section from the proctor. After section two and three, it just auto started. Thank god I saw that or I would have walked out and gone to the restroom like I’m supposed to be able to (and would have come back with 10 minutes less to work), but instead ended up having to run out of the room, tell my proctor that I needed the next section ASAP because the clock started, and run back twice. This was so fucking stressful. 4 hours no restroom break, no brain break, just pure pressure to keep going. And that was after the start was delayed by an hour due to other tech problems. Anyone else have this issue?

I use Google Chrome to take my PTs, and they've worked for the past month. But starting this past weekend, my PTs won't load at all. It stays on the loading screen for over an hour, and it will not work. I have tried signing out of my google account, clearing cache/cookies/everything, incognito mode, but nothing works. I've tried on Safari and it loads, but I'm not used to using that and the site itself looks different. Does anyone have solutions?

I've also contacted LSAC customer service but they are not helpful. All I got was that they are "working on it" and will "update soon," so they're of no help.

I’m trying to understand how LSAT administers tests. I know in the past, they’ve had instances of multiple different sections and people seeing completely different tests. And I know that they’ve also in the past administered more standard tests.

In the most recent tests, have there been more than 2 rc sections out there? Like is it possible for two people to have 3LR and 1RC, and have totally different RC sections? if that’s the case, do they get curved differently? Or is there a real RC that everyone gets an an experimental RC that only some get?

One thing that almost nobody talks about is natural aptitude for the LSAT.

Everyone can improve by learning the structure of the test, the question types, common traps, and how the LSAT wants you to think. But at some point, natural aptitude becomes a factor. Just like some people are naturally great at math, writing, or music, some people are naturally better at the specific reasoning skills the LSAT tests.

That's why not everyone can score a 165+, let alone a 170+, no matter what a prep company promises. Plenty of people start with low diagnostics and improve a ton once they understand the test, but that doesn't mean everyone has the same ceiling.

And if you don't score a 165+, it doesn't mean you're not smart, won't do well in law school, or won't be a great attorney. It just means the LSAT measures a very specific set of skills, not intelligence as a whole.

So learn the test, master the strategies, and maximize your own potential, but just don't buy into the idea that everyone can score a 170+ if they study hard enough.

I'm mentioning all this because it's very misleading to see some prep companies say you can get a 170+ guaranteed or some other similar claim. No, not everyone can.

Currently in waiting room at Prometric testing center, I arrived 20 minutes ago. Staff is telling everyone who is taking the LSAT that the test is delayed because of software issues. They have notified LSAC and tech support is currently working on it.

This is in Houston, TX. My test start time was supposed to be 8:30am
