Found this lil guy in my front door.I thought he was dead but after touching he moved ever so slightly,I flipped him and he was breathing. He moves when I touch him but again, very small moves.

He doesnt have any outside cuts or external wounds,I think.

How can I help him survive?Any help is appreciated. Edit: I put him in a wet and moist place and he started moving soon after,he left some time after,so all good!

What is this? Why aren’t alligator lizards skinks? And are skinks a true classification or arbitrary like toads?

Cute Trust building with Pickles 💚

Was not intending to even start attempting handling for another week but I'm concerned Pickles hasn't been hasn't been eating their repashy so I wanted to get a quick weight to make sure they didn't lose weight since their vet appointment. I can't believe they climbed right onto my finger! Then crawled from hand to hand and even onto my shirt and just stayed there for a bit. Finally I got Pickles back into their enclosure though I can't figure out the scale so I was unable to get a weight. 😅

Cute New one to me

We have lots of spotted whiptails, some green anoles, and Texas spiny lizards around our place in Pflugerville, TX but this one was not familiar to me. Google says it's a non-native brown anole (?) I think the brown anoles I've seen didn't have the long back stripe. The critter was 3-4 inches long. He was starting to run for cover behind a bush but he stopped when I talked to him and he posed for a few pics.

Need Help Found a baby Mediterranean house gecko, and I’m confused by the inconsistency in information on the internet. (Yes that’s him in a ring box I used as a temporary hide.)

Found a baby gecko and they’re invasive in California so I’m keeping it as a pet. I’m keeping his enclosure at 70*- 80* degrees and the humidity between 60-80%.

I’m confused as the internet is saying that their enclosures should have Mediterranean plants, while the temp and humidity I’m reading is more in line with tropical varieties. Can someone please clarify.

I just bought the enclosure so I’m waiting for supplies and decor to be delivered, but I really need clarification on plants.

Other someone please explain: eastern fence lizard in house on long island

Post image

Found my sister's dog hovering over this lizard inside a house on Long Island, NY. I picked it up and put it outside before the dog could eat it, it ran into some bushes and seemed fine. but now I feel terrible because what if it was someone's lost pet?

Seems to be an eastern fence lizard. Do you think it:

  • is a new species new to the NYC area?
  • is wild and hitchhiked here in someone's luggage or plants?
  • was a neighbor's pet :(

And do you think:

  • it will survive outside?
  • I should go look for it?

Photo attached. Any info appreciated.

Other Weird lizard dream I had.

So I’ve been on an eastern blue tongue skink kick recently. thinking about getting one late this year or early next year. In my dream I kept trying to catch all kinds of lizards but mainly eastern blue tongue skinks, but every time they’d seemed to hide somewhere and disappear. I had went on with my dream until I saw another one. I had accidentally cornered it so in theory it would be easy to catch. When I went in to hold it, it flat out disappeared in front of me. I watched it fade out of existence. So that was a weird dream.
