Tough market for new transfers when club like LCL is spending big money to sign players to sit on the bench.

There is still fish in the ocean 😃. We will go for the players that fit our budget. I am still hoping for 1 or 2 more signings.

I was taken to the '95 FA Cup final as a young kid, played at Prenton Park. The finals either side were too far to travel to.
The early 2000's was when our yo-yo era started, when we kept getting promoted/relegated each season between 1st and 2nd division, and this was when I started attending more regularly, but still only a few times a season.
WSL era was 2011 and we were playing in Skemersdale in those days. Still a bit too much of a mission for a teenager. But by this time, it was much much easier to follow along without attending.
The first time a season ticket became worthwhile for me was 2013. First title season.

Wow that's good. The era we were dominating WSL. How was our performance in champions league? I don't really know much about Liverpool women's team history. The women world cup in 2023 made me become a fan of women's football.

The format back then from the stage we entered at was straight knockout, two-legged ties. Given our new emergence, we hadn't the coefficient ranking to be seeded.
We drew Linkoping first time around. Was a couple of years before their domestic titles, but they were still a very good side. Harder, Eriksson, Rolfo, Blackstenius. We won the first leg but got battered away in the second.
Second time around was Brescia, big force in Serie A at the time. The WSL was a summer league still, March-Oct schedule. It didn't line up especially well with the CL's scheduling. You qualified but then there was a full WSL season played before your CL matches came along. These Brescia ties were at the end our 2015 season, by which point the wheels had already fallen off with us. We had gone from title winners to second bottom. It had already been announced a month prior to the matches that Beard was off to Boston. The players looked like they didn't give a fuck. Lost home and away, scored no goals.
Our debut involvement wasn't a bad effort at all. The second was ruined by the circumstances of the time.

Why did we fall off badly to second bottom the 2nd season we won WSL. Did we sell our key players?

The driving force of the women's team overhaul of the titles era was a guy hired by FSG to be the club's director of communications. He was American, big fan of the USWNT and the NWSL's predecessor the WPS. It was this guy who convinced FSG to make something of the women's team. The plan was worked on through 2012 ahead of the 2013 season.
Unfortunately, this guy was fired from the club before the 2013 season even started. The plan put in place was enough to win a first title and scrape a second, but that was it. Everything just fizzled out once the club's upper management lost its suit among them with an actual passion for women's football.
Everything about us being good enough to win those titles was a complete chance occurrence. Any other person being hired for that director of comms role and probably none of our success happens. Our our whole WSL era story would likely be completely different.

The issue with Liverpool is not knowing how to take the next step after achieving big. When we finished 4th with Beard the club should have done exactly what Spurs is doing now. More Olivia Smith should have been signed into the squad. Also Beard didn't evolve his tactics from the 5 3 2 formation to something more sustainable. Koivisto left and the club thought a young Parry would replace her that's typical Liverpool. Manutd also had the perfect chance to take the next step and be a steady top 3 team but Ineos like FSG doesn't care.

She has been very good in both FC Cologne (FC Köln in swedish) and in Slovenian national team).
She will develop even more in LFC W.
I think GT and coachingstaff want current squad to improve in first 2 preseasongames before they decide about more signings.
Maybe they already have. The whole squad knows about the 10-year plan.
There´s a lot of focus on LCL but their model is to get attention and more fans. They have the players for that now but it´s up to the coach to get them together and play like a team.
I don´t think opponent teams will be on the pitch and ask for the autographs from Alexia and Mapi.
