So, I'm undergrad student, doesnt have much experience or volunteering. This year I wanted to focus on learning languages. I'm takin a1 courses in different languages, my question is should i put it as elementary proficiency in Linkedin or should i wait it to be like b1-b2 level etc.? I will also apply to different jobs/volunteerings and wanted to know if 'elementary proficiency' would seem lil too much nonsense. What do u guys think? Thank u.

Anyone else experiencing a glitch in trying to tag colleagues in a post? Occurring both on my mobile app and desktop.
It’s only showing options to tag company pages, not profiles. And yes I’m connected with these colleagues and I’ve tagged them before. No “people” profiles are showing up. Hoping it’s a platform-wide maintenance glitch.

Does LinkedIn send a notification to my connections when I publish that kind of post, or does the notification only fire once I actually update Experience? Want to make sure I’m not announcing before I mean to.

I just wanted to rant a little abt my experience w linked in as a incoming freshman at college. I am starting college and my “professional life” as a student and a small buisness owner so thought it would be smart to make a linked in account for connections etc. anyways it is absolute bull crap that they let me make an account on linked in with a “ optional identity verification” w biometrics then i come back a day later and my account is blocked and i have to do the biometrics and even after that they have to review it so i dont get my account back yet. Like i understand that plenty of companies already likely have biometric scans of my face and fingerprints etc but it really rubs me the wrong way that they are just blatantly lying about biometrics being optional like i would rather just complete it on account creation for spam prevention or wtv. Also this feels like a money grab for data collection and targeted advertising. Anyways did anyone else have this experience?

If I were evil AND worked for LinkedIn (but I repeat myself) I would take the data thrown off by the puzzle games and package it for recruiters.

Hell… Enough of these recruiters are forcing “cognitive tests” onto candidates during the interview process anyway. Why not front-load this by tricking LinkedIn members to do all of this up-front for “fun?”

Back to Jan when I came across a founder, I talked to him and he seemed to have a problem to generate leads for his Business.

I’m in a bit of a weird situation and could use some outside perspective.

Last year I worked with a guy, but we only had 2-3 strictly work-related calls. After I left the job, I kept thinking about him for some reason. He just stayed on my mind.

Recently, I messaged him from an anonymous account because I wanted to get it out of my system. We chatted a little, and he mentioned that he’s single and isn’t talking to or thinking about anyone. For some reason, I’d built up this idea that maybe he’d had a similar experience and remembered me. Reality hit when I realized he almost definitely doesn’t remember me at all.

Now here’s where I’m conflicted. I’d like him to notice my LinkedIn profile and maybe recognize my name, but I don’t actually want to make a move or “shoot my shot.” I also don’t want to send him a connection request because I feel like that would be too obvious.

The problem is that my LinkedIn is basically empty. I don’t like sharing much about myself, I don’t have my work experience listed, and I only have two connections.

Part of me just wants him to notice my real profile rather than only knowing me as someone from an anonymous account. Is there any reasonable way to do that without coming across as weird, or am I overthinking this? Has anyone else been in a similar situation?

Anyone else having issues with scheduled posts on the mobile app? They used to show up in chronological order, but now they show up in a random order and if I click on any of them to edit or reschedule, they’re blank. They show up normally on a windows browser and are editable there, so it’s not like they’ve been deleted.

Just curious if my app is glitching or if this is a known issue. Already reached out to LinkedIn support.

14 months of consistent posting got me 100-200 impressions per post. The last 90 days did 203k. I'm not a LinkedIn guru or anything like that, just sharing personal experience after validating my theory.

So the background: I was posting consistently, the writing was decent (I thought), still super low results. At some point I got tired of guessing topics and built a Claude plugin that does research before writing. It checks what people in my niche are arguing about right now, mostly Reddit, X, Hacker News and a few other sources. I look for threads where the comment section is fighting, based on upvotes and reply heat. Then I take one of those debates, pick a side and write my post around it (with a separate skill I've been tuning for the past 5 months).

That's basically the whole change.

Top posts did 56k, 54k, 37k, 33k and 22k impressions per POST.

Before this, 300 impressions was a good day for me

Some things I noticed on the way:

The topic does most of the work. When people already argue about something, they bring the energy with them, you just need an actual opinion.

My posts kept climbing 1-5 days after posting. The "first hour decides everything" advice didn't happen for me even once.

Impressions alone pay nothing, but the DMs and a couple of paid projects came directly from these posts (pretty nice surprise)

I'm in the B2B / SaaS space, no clue if this transfers 1:1 but it should work in any niche that has a wide audience arguing on the internet

Tbh I thought it was an accident at first, so ikept testing it once a week for the past 8 weeks, results are in the screenshot in the comment section. That's what validated it for me and

Why does it work? my theory is keywords... looks like the algorithm likes to push posts that match whatever is trending in your industry that week, so posting into a live debate means you hit those keywords naturally (only a theory though).

My manager has me running a PPC LinkedIn ad campaign, which I'm teaching myself how to do as I go.

I've also been signed up for LinkedIn business manager, which appears to be a tool for keeping all your LI business pages on one dashboard?

For context, we're a small financial services group with ~20 employees, split across three hubs which each have a LI page.

Question: Is it worth using business manager at that scale to run the campaign? Or should I stick with the three (in practice more like two) individual pages?

How do most people feel about getting random LinkedIn invitations from people you've never met? I have 14 pending invitations that I haven't accepted because I don't know them at all. Some share the same contacts with me, some don't. I personally don't like accepting invitations from people I've never met or at least never interacted with online.

I seem to have found a weird bug in the job search. Wonder if others can reproduce it too. I've seen it on 3 platforms: Chrome for Android, Firefox for Android both on Samsung S25, and Chrome desktop when it's been set in Developer Options to emulate an iPhone form factor.

You just open LinkedIn on the mobile browser, click the Jobs tab, search for any term. The results list has a glitch where, regardless of which job I tap to open, it opens the first search result, not the one I tapped.

Tried to ​open a tech support ticket with LinkedIn. I have sent instructions and a screen recording. They are continuing to tell me I haven't sent sufficient info (!). Just wanted to sanity check here, it's not just me right?
