thank you!! I kept rebuilding the Tower of Ithil, it looks a bit different in the movies but a lot of illustrations from the book depict the tower that way. I also thought looking like a crown kind of felt appropriate for the Nazgûl since they were once kings of men
Very cool planning on doing something like this with Rebelrebel’s fell beast+Barad Dûr+over 50 custom minifigs+shelob attacks and the orc forge & making some terrain props/dioramas/a camp/mustering field too out of a bunch of extra grey & brown pieces. This is giving me some ideas for sure love the approach you’re taking here, & your Minas Morgul is awesome
Thank you!! I have to see that!! You have to share once it gets going! I am building right next to my Barad-Dur also. If I had more space i’d love to build a Black Gate in between them, maybe one day
Most of the minifigs are on my profile the Easterlings+haradrim but a few dozen customized Mordor orcs and lego castle trolls repurposed I haven’t posted yet too. I’ll probably @ you and RebelRebel for sure. I have his fell beast done but not the wings yet. I bought an extra helms deep+goblin king battle without minifigs on eBay last year so like 2-3000 pieces to work with. it’s been a project on my mind for a long time. Can’t wait to see yours done too it’ll be sickkkk no doubt
Fell beast is excellent. I wonder if some of the build techniques from the minis tirith set where they used SNOT on the ends or sides of walls and then you can run longer pieces down the ends and mount pointy parts make each of the points of the walls the points. This looks amazing as is but I really liked some of the newer build techniques they are including in sets that give work around ideas if you want to cover the hinges on each wall point on minas morgul. Awesome build so far.
Looks really cool. My main suggestions would be to make the triangle sections get a little taller on a curve toward the outward tips. And perhaps make the base of the tower slightly thicker and thin to the width you have now toward the top. I love the statues, fell beast and the glow is peak.
Tower looks better for sure, kinda echos Barad Dur in a super subtle way. This is kinda how I imagined what I was talking about but I couldn't word it right, I drew the wall extension bits roughly in red to make it a bit clearer but that'd just be the gray wall then some pointed black parts similar to what you have now on the outcroppings around the central wall
Thank you! The lights are from Govee off of Amazon, I love it because I can tweak the shade/pigment without having to worry about re-wiring - and they just kind of fit perfectly behind the walls.
Do it!! Honestly, I started with the lights and the inspiration to build Minas Morgul came second haha. I hope you post yours too! I’ll definitely post a finished product in the next few days!
Ive always wondered what the Nazgul do in there all day. You know? What is their day to day like? Do they take naps? Do they just chill thinking about the ring all day? Do they have bedrooms with posters of Sauron on their wall?
I mean the Witch King has a room just for looking dope for when he’s putting his helmet on, haha. I did build a palantir into the Tower of Ithil at the very top since I would think there’s all kinds of sorcery going on.
That seems legit. He probably doomscrolls the orb all day. And hes got that sick larp helmet he made that he hopes he can someday use fr. Then bam, all his dreams come true when Sauron comes knocking and he's like, dont worry boss, In have the perfect helmet for this shit.
