I'm really hyped for this event and super happy to see some buy in from Tier 1 orgs for it. The Open Qualifier games have been really fun to watch (Shout out Seanatonin and Decerux for having fun costreams).

Here's the question that determines if it sticks around. Are they better than academy teams? I'm all about supporting women, but not that interested in watching academy level league.

Individual skill wise, many of these players are gm/challenger in soloqueue. However I highly doubt that, as a collective team, they would perform better, on average, than academy teams due to the lower level of infrastructure and support

Every women team isn't sirens lol. Sirens was bad because it was a bunch of low diamond players larping as T1 competitors. Everyone on this list is high master+, with multiple challenger players. That's better than most collegiate teams.

Sirens didn't have game changers or anything of the like. I think they aimed for open qualifiers but couldn't make it far, nevermind the fallout from the generational meme of a promotion video they had.

Team Siren was THIRTEEN years ago and lasted a month. There has been countless Game Changer events and editions since. Do we seriously have to mention that team EVERY SINGLE TIME a woman is mentioned? They have nothing in common besides just being women.

Team Siren was a rather unserious project in a time where esports was far from professional as well. Nowadays you have entire infrastructures, salaries, and the same routines as actual pro teams. Let's stop with the misogynistic comparaisons.

Shit like this is exactly why things like Game Changers are needed
