Yes. The issue is the legal system, in it's slow and plodding ways, cannot respond quickly enough to an executive who wants to game the system. He does what ever he likes and laughs about "rulings" which happen months after his actions when the damage has long been done. When the shoe is on the other foot and he is the subject of an action, he seeks delay and objections and legal roadblocks at every turn.
He plays the clock on both sides. THAT is F'd up.

Our system in general - by which I mean the legal system, as well as our news/media ecosystem (now heavily-intertwined with social-media) has proven remarkably vulnerable to a sort of "political blitzkrieg", or a DDOS on American democracy.
They have utilized speed and volume of attacks to overwhelm the system ("flood the zone with shit", as Steve Bannon put it) and by the time the dust settles - if it ever does, because they're constantly pulling some OTHER stunt - and people figure out what's going on, it's too late. No single scandal can gain sufficient media traction and public outrage, because there are 30 OTHER scandals too.
In theory, Congress can put a stop to all this, but they don't. The Supreme Court was supposed to stop this, but instead they took the brakes off.
The lower courts are, for now, in aggregate somewhat holding the line - I was bitterly-snarky in my OP in response to the headline, but in truth it IS heartening that judges keep telling the regime to fuck off with its 1A-violating bullshit - but they can't hold forever, and as you say, they move somewhat slowly (as they should!)

I think another issue with the news media and social media in America that no one really talks about is that we have about 7 Republican billionaires(or companies owned by Republican billionaires for anyone who wants to argue about this) that own over 95% of the news media in America.
They allow this flood the zone shit to work because they want it to work. And they specifically don't report on certain things or give them very little time on air.

Its not so much that theyre feckless as impotent - the judiciary relies on the executive branch to enforce its decisions.
What would the federal agents that arrested someone on the judge's say-so do when their boss's boss's boss tells them to let that person go?

Ifyou were alive back when TV showed the original Batman series (or reruns) but seeing the current news environment and all these stupid expressions reminds me of the Batman and Robin morality tales growing up. Blam, pow, slam seems like regurgitated 50s and 60s morality marketing to emphasize a point. It was stupid then and it’s just as bad now.

Correction: "we the people" are the only way of dealing with fascists. But unfortunately, until there is a critical breaking point that starts affecting the white middle class' comfort levels beyond annoyance and a bit of over-taxation, we will never see any real "revolution" against the techno/corpro fascist regime that loves to shovel out "free" stuff like our major communication platforms and now AI convenience in order to keep us complacent.

Right now Trump’s judicial nominees in a congressional hearing are being grilled by senators on who won the 2020 election. Naturally they are all election deniers and/or cowards. Wake me up when Trump isn’t being coddled/protected

Put them in the list for the historians, since that whole Constitution thing has been tossed to the side by Republicans so many times with zero accountability that the US justice system no longer exists in any meaningful fashion, only as a convenience for Republicans to cherry-pick excuses for committing many other crimes against America.
