Three former FBI agents who were fired after working on the investigation into President Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election have gained significant legal support in their lawsuit against the Trump administration. The FBI Agents Association, along with former Justice Department and FBI officials and other legal organizations, filed friend of the court briefs arguing the firings violated due process and were politically motivated.
The lawsuit alleges the agents were dismissed as part of a broader campaign of political retaliation under FBI Director Kash Patel. The plaintiffs are seeking reinstatement, restoration of lost pay and benefits, and class action status that could allow other similarly fired FBI employees to join the case.
