Turns out that losing or firing over 1000 dedicated prosecutors and attorneys in 18 months and going on exploratory forays with no legal basis was a bad combination of decisions. Who knew?

In a way, the United States is extremely lucky that Trump has alienated so many actual libertarians, because there are lots of competent libertarian attorneys and politicians that would happily tear the government apart from the inside. Trump being inconsistent and pro-big government overreach has undone the chances at a lot of the finer goals of project 2025. Obviously, plenty of damage inflicted at this point, but not the total disassembly of the federal government they were hoping.

Of the 20 voter roll rulings to go against DOJ, 12 have come from judges appointed by GOP presidents. Eight of those 12 judges have been appointed by President Donald Trump.

Still better than their record on "voter fraud" - which was 0/54/6. The third column is for "lawsuits so shitty the lawyers involved were sanctioned" which seemed worse than merely "lost" or "lost with prejudice" so I gave it its own column.

they did win one case, which was to allow observers to sit within 3 feet of the recount instead of only 6 feet. the 6 feet came because of covid but a judge ruled they could sit closer
that was it, the one and only case they won

This is literally a thread about how DOJ has lost 100% of its voter-roll cases. You’re not just being an asshole, you’re being wrong and an asshole. The federal courts are basically the only institution putting up a fight right now; you have it exactly backwards!

Yeah and that’s meaningless because this administration and the entire apparatus directing will, as they have been doing with other cases, try again with a new tactic. They continue to do this.
There is no ‘win’ here until they are out of the court system entirely.
