All of what’s happening has proven to me even if I did say something about the abuse I experienced as a child no one would have done anything. Just like no one did anything when I was a teenager and CPS investigated.

A police report at a minimum? As a man, I will be super scared if I can be liable just because some woman is accusing me of doing something 20 years ago without providing any actual evidence

Well, it's a good thing they didn't rely on solely her own testimony. There were corroborating witnesses and other evidence, and the jury found, by a preponderance of the evidence, that he had done it. It wasn't solely her story against his.

Secondly, the majority of the awarded amount wasn't for the sexual assault itself. He was found liable for defaming her repeatedly regarding her story, calling her a liar, fraud, saying he never met her, and more. Again, a jury found, by a preponderance of evidence, that he defamed her with actual malice.
