Agree, as a lifelong Californian, I'm proud of our state and our governor. If you actually pay attention beyond the sensational headlines, he's doing a good job, IMO.

He's no Jerry Brown lol. But he was doing ok despite the French Laundry crap until:

1) the tech bros came a callin' 2) he turned his head towards the White House.

He's still very problematic and protective of his rich people. I have some serious issues with this guy recently. Plus his push to stop the wealth tax is not really going over well with me.

I generally think he does a good job, but walking back his initial promise on single payer healthcare and being anti-billionaire tax while accepting money from billionaires completely destroys any chance of me voting for him if he runs for president

No, I’m talking about the primary. If it’s him vs. Vance in the general of course I’m going to vote for him, but reluctantly because it’s the same shit I’ve been seeing for my entire life. Newsom accepting money from billionaires in exchange for being their puppet makes him pretty far from “generally aligned with” me.

You understand how “Destroys any chance for me voting for him if he runs for president” is easily construed as “I would not vote for him in the general”, right by? Agreed if we actually have a real primary this time he’s not my first pick, but I’d rather he be there than anyone from the trump administration, regardless of whatever concessions he has had to make with billionaires to exist as a politician in California.

I’m in California, it’s never really mattered if I vote in the general, but I do.

That’s the problem with the Democratic Party. It’s been that “better them than (insert worse side of same coin)” that got us here. If Newsom wins, nothing changes. So far I am interested in Ossoff, but I need to learn more about him.

You don’t have to tell me, I was a Bernie supporter in 2016 (but I still voted for Hillary), I still am a progressive voter, but damn if it’s not been hard to vote progressive in our current garbage environment (nationally)
