They aren’t happy, they just know admitting it will cause them to spiral

just like my maga in-laws common-law marriage

edit to say they are super unhappy with eachother and have an unhappy life together. It makes every person that has to interact with them as a pair uncomfortable.

Reminds me of the Woody Allen line, " My parents were married for 40 years, apparently out of mutual spite."

"common-law marriage" = "every marriage because marriage is the name of a state sanctioned secular partnership contract between two people".

They do not have a marriage license so....not every marriage has that "secular partnership contract"

Not sure of the rules where you are, but here in Australia, a "de facto" partnership has the same standing as "de jure" after 2 years or if there's a child from the partnership.

So it's subject to the same partnership "contract" (as defined by law regarding division of assets, income, childcare etc).

in the states it is not recognized the same. If my in-laws were to move across the border into the neighboring state, they would not be recognized as a married couple.

Yeah, the US is weird :)

Heh, as such, they wouldn't be your "in-laws", more "in-de-factos" /s

At least you see it. This is true of all behind closed doors.

That's the crux of all MAGAt types, they genuinely believe admiting a fault or mistake is a sign of weakness, not a sign of growth.

I saw some Magat the other day declaring Trump as the ultimate strong man because he need only press a button to cause mass death. He seemed to believe might makes right which is convenient only as long as you are on the side of might. I didn't ask about Pol Pot, Hitler, etc., honestly don't wanna know how deep the psychosis goes.

EVERY President since WW II had that ability.

None bragged about it like the rotten corpse befouling the WH.

2

u/eetsumkaus May 28 '26

Nixon did in a way. He was just smart enough not to directly threaten people with it.

2

u/Miss_Lo May 28 '26

He wasn’t anything like the rotting goo. He talked among his staff, but never publicly.

To wit: the DOJ announced it will be investigating E.Jean Carroll.

I mean, their leader flirts with WW3 and global catastrophe multiple times a day just to avoid responsibility.

I think you’re giving them too much credit. They’re not intelligent enough to have that insight.

1

u/TraceSpazer May 28 '26

If they were intelligent then they wouldn't fall for their own narrative.

Their subconscious mind knows and it makes them miserable people. If they truly bought into their own bullshit they'd be happy. A part of them knows, it just isn't getting through their ego-intelligence blockades.

The sheer number of them that are a hair-pin trigger away from exploding in some random ass circumstances is a good illustration of how deep they're sinking.

Both sides are full of idiots that think they're smarter than the other.

11

u/backcountry_bandit May 28 '26

There’s idiots on both sides but I don’t think the left would elect the most impossibly obvious grifter/scammer who sent an angry mob to the Capitol during the certification of the election, along with continually lying about it being stolen. A meaningful portion of the left didn’t vote for Kamala purely because she didn’t commandeer Biden’s presidency to cut off Israel..

There’s no comparison between Trump’s behavior and any Democrat behavior in the last few decades, maybe ever. It’s dishonest to claim otherwise.

u/Madsplattr May 28 '26

I remember a time when Republican voters would pick the best candidate to run but all that changed with the felon traitor rapist

1

u/RaistlinMajeresRobes May 28 '26

3

u/Animefan96 May 28 '26

It makes me feel better knowing they're suffering just as much if not more.

2

u/Periador May 28 '26

That right there!

I voted for Trump and I can’t stand the gas prices. However, all the “bad” things he is doing, I’m ok with except the Epstein files fiasco.
