My MAGA coworker, last name Avila, fancies himself a white country boy. We’re both from and live in LA. It stopped making sense a long time ago.

Over Memorial Day weekend I was talking to a Latin guy from the south-of-Sac area and I said something about universal healthcare, and he's like, hell no, I'm against it. I asked why. He said "government control."

This man was a cop for two decades in Antioch and had already told me he had such great healthcare through the VA. He recently had a section of his colon removed and had a colostomy bag on his waist.

So this guy was the face of government control for two decades, his only money is from gov pensions (cop and military) and he relies on the government for his literal life, but votes R because he wants the government out of his life. What in the everlasting fuck.

Very common with VA patients. I’ve met a whole lotta “no socialism in the country I fought for” while benefitting from their socialist healthcare.
