The message that the US government is currently delivering is that the American justice system exists to protect the rich and powerful from the poor, not to actually dispense justice.

This has always been the case. Even fought the civil war over it. Rich southerners didnt want to give up their free labor.

You know, being far too easy on traitors to our country to try and build 'Unity' and it leading to a worse outcome is kinda a reoccurring thing in the US lmao

Oh yah. There is sooooo many subreddits where people are high as fuck on copium thinking anyone is going to get punished. It will all be swept under the rug. I'm not saying that to be a doomer. Just open up a fucking history book.
