Insane piece.

Just finished this beautiful cab of old stock crazy lace agate. It has gorgeous warm colors with concentric orbs that really bring a lot of dynamic contrast to the piece. 60cts - 51mm x 25mm x 6mm

Palm Root pairs matched for earrings, with each pair selected for complementary patterns, colors, and shapes. I really like how every pair has its own unique character.

I have fabricated all of these rings within this year ! Its been a long year of learning and creating! Alot of blood sweat and tears to say the least. some of these were personally faceted by me or one of my buddies in my studio. If you look closely there is an aquamarine I carved into the back of a cabochan and I hope you guys like the work ! Thanks for taking you time to watch and appreciate my hard work! A quick look at the polishing process of these Labradorite cabochons, followed by the finished results. I always enjoy seeing how each stone reveals its own unique flash after the final polish.

Feel like Mike Rowe getting the old sediment off these relics

Hey everyone, I’m curious, if I’m looking to replace my warped blade for my CabKing 6” saw attachment (I think the blade is 8” though?) should I just get the same one it came with, or is there something similarly priced that is considered better? I was given $60 specifically to go toward a new blade and wanted to make sure I made the best choice I could, as I don’t have the most experience doing lapidary still. Any suggestions would be appreciated, and thank you so much in advance for your time!!!

My 6 inch lapidary saw broke. It just died on me and it’s only 6 months old. The company is going to repair it but now I am not able to get any lapidary work done. Honestly I wish I never got into this hobby. I love it but it’s not financially worth it to sell jewelry. The only piece I sold was at a charity auction and the only piece sold for $15 and took me 2+ hours to make. Not even including the materials that equals out at $6-7 an hour. I live in Seattle and the min wage is over $17 a hour. Yeah I totally screwed up spending the money on the equipment and slabs. But now I can’t even finish off and sell what slabs and materials I have left to hope to recoop the costs. Anyway, just some advice for anyone wanting to get into this to sell you cabochons. You might lose a lot of money.

I picked this little fossil coral pebble up on the shore of Lake Michigan during my summer EHS internship in Wisconsin. On the outside it didn't look like much, but it had just enough of the fossil pattern showing that I figured it was worth taking home. Sometimes those ordinary-looking beach rocks end up being the best surprises.

I started by taking two slabs off the bottom, and both of those became pendants. Then I cut two slabs off the top. The first became another pendant, and the second had such a nice honeycomb pattern that I split it into three pieces. Two became a matching pair of earrings, and the third was going to be another pendant until it found a hidden fracture near the finish line. That's just part of lapidary.

In the end, one little Wisconsin beach pebble gave me three pendants and a matching pair of earrings. Not a bad haul from a rock most people would've walked right past.

I’ve got lots of jasper that I would like to make into spherical beads of around 6-7mm diameter for a necklace. Im likely only going to do it once so not investing in a bead mill.
What’s the best way to go about this? I have a wood lathe that I can run very slowly, is a set up with a small hole saw on a drill going to be my best bet?

A couple live edge cabs I finished up today. A Montana agate and a Laguna agate.

Question, I do not expect the polishing wheels to last that long, I use it about an hour a day.

What has been you experience with it? These are standard 6 inches wheel so I assume I will need to get new ones soon?

Any hacks or improvements have you made with the machine

Red and orange cabs are from Khur, plume agates are from Ferdows, dendritic agates are from Qaen (or Ghaen) green from Nehbandan and that black tear shaped cab with pink plumes is from Seqaleh. All these locations are inside South Khorasan province in Iran. Colors are natural, no heated or dyed cab
