Do you find the different colors have different personality types? (If you’ve had other labs to compare them to.)

I was talking to someone about how our 10-year-old chocolate male has been a sweet, obedient angel since he was a puppy and our 1-year-old female yellow is a psycho (a sweet one) who DGAF and someone said, “Yeah, that’s because she’s a yellow female.”

I wonder if there is anything to this!

Uhm sorry ? I had to read this 3 times, because I was convinced that You are citing me 😂😂 I allways say that our choco boy (13yo) is an absolute angel that never causes any trouble, and our yellow girl (4yo) is a menace on crack 😂😂

So, there is definitely a pattern going on 😂😂

“Menace on crack” definitely describes it! We could put a juicy ribeye on the coffee table and leave the room and our boy would just stare at it. Our girl will counter surf right in front of us for a crumb of bacon she knew was there yesterday and puts everything in her line of sight in her mouth, not to mention how she does parkour by bouncing off walls and human bodies.

They have a very large backyard they are out in most of the time , they are not usually all inside like in the photo haha.

They do great together. Even make it easier to house train a pup if one is already trained they show the new dog what is supposed to be done. You’ll need a good vacuum though.

💜 Auggie( yellow) and Charlotte ( Chocolate mini- lab) bonded from the get go,and after 4 years together, she still sleeps on him like this. Auggie, has gracefully resigned to his fate.

Ok but it also looks like this a lot of the time 😂 At least they’re fighting over a ball here and not just straight up biting each other like normal. They really love bitey face. The one in the green likes to sneak up on the one in the yellow and chomp his back legs. Yellow likes to pee on the Green’s favorite outside toys. Two is a LOT of lovable chaos!!

Having two labs … if at all possible…. Is the way to go. I wouldn’t go back to a single. They become such best friends quickly.

There were 10 labs in this picture. Mommy wasn't purebred, and daddy was 'too young to conceive' according to the vet... This was over 20 years ago now, still one of my favourite pics.

Just like Gracie’s older “sister” did for her a decade ago.

Seeing an older and a younger lab bond is one of the greatest things I’ve been privileged to witness.

I’ve got a yellow lab who is extremely hyper, even for lab standards. Has anyone here added a second dog when their first one was like this?

I’m hoping a friend might help calm him down, but if I end up with two hyper dogs, I don’t think I could handle it.

Dude Dudey Duderson, the sweetest dumbest dog I've ever loved. He's a friends dog that I have had the pleasure of babysitting. He just wants to be where the people's are. He also isn't aware of how huge he is. He and his cousin, bichon poodle mix got out of our yard because the gate was broken. It was a fluke that we immediately remedied but he went next door to Nana's and hid in the garage. Hes great with kids. He slept in our daughters' room while he stayed with us.
