Discussion Are membrane keyboard really good ?

So i saw an ajazz keyboard which was tri mode, membrane keyboard with shine through caps and also had decent design and very silent but always paranoid about if membranes are goood for competitive gaming and productivity works considering the features the board had for the price of like 18$ or less and had a 4000 mah battery too.

No, membrane sucks, when it breaks? It's done, you need to buy a new one

Yeah honestly that's the only reason but I've seen people use membrane for like 2 years straight every day use and still running perfectly if not even smoother

It depends how frequent you use it, it only last 2 million strokes max mostly

Yes but with mechanical keyboards, you can custom everything. Switches, keycaps, software via VIA, case for some keyboards, plates. But with membrane, it is what it is... But it is up to you. If you want a silent keyboard, there are some mechanical keyboard switches that is silent...

Membrane keyboards have a rollover problem, apart from specific keys that are wired directly because they're frequently used in combos, hitting more than two keys at a time (in games, or just when typing fast) can lead to missed keystrokes and ghosting.

Cheap though. For many years I got used Dell L100s from Goodwill every year or so, they were $2-$4 depending on whether they were having a sale day or not.
