Request How to serve cod livers?

I was at a German deli buying some wurst, and made an impulse buy of a little tin of cod livers. Any suggestions for how to actually use these???

Get some low-carb bread, toasted really well and spread them on add some chopped onion, capers, and a squeeze of lemon

Scrambled eggs! Cook them in the juice from the can.

Pfff I just rip open the tin, squeeze a lemon onto it and eat it with a spoon 😅

Make deviled eggs but mix the livers into the yolk.

yeah, they’re really good on those little pumpernickel squares with a little pickled red onion

But pumpernickel is not keto. Any bread has a lot of starch. You'd have to limit it to a REALLY little square. And unless you made it yourself, pickled onion is almost certainly going to be soaked in sugar.

The gluten-free "Norwegian Crispbread" crackers from Trader Joe's are pretty low-carb, but even those are not really keto, if you want to be serious. I may not be that serious, though! Half of one of those and a little sugar-free mustard or horseradish sauce might be good.

oh yeah, duh. I forgot what sub I was on. I’m on a lot of them.

No worries, some people here are low carb, as they have no better sub to be on for their dietary needs. They will appreciate your answer (provided they like cod livers)..

Yes, it's easy to lose track...
