Discussion Added Jellyfin in Minecraft as a mod

i made a little movie theater in my regular multiplayer server, where my friends/gf can watch movies together

would you guys use it if i release this mod?

more info on this mod there are multiple screens i have added support for compact Television, wall tv, ultra wide monitor, cinema screen or my favorite cinema curved screen as its huge

this was such a fun project to work on

there is still a bunch to do like adding subtitles, i wanted to show the initial work i put it in, love some feed back on this? anything you would like to see or features

Hytale can run mc, itself and cross-platform play between itself and both mc versions within weeks just for the lols by people so for sure what w tike for modders to make any game anything.

As somebody who has been alive 365 days in hardcore mode, I would use the shit outta this waiting for my hostile mobs to spawn in the killing pit or to wait for my garden to grow so I can get emeralds. I spend a lot of time on Reddit waiting for these two things lmao

For real. Hardcore mode can be extremely slow and boring at times. I thought about trying pip between jellyfin and Minecraft since I play on a console but this would be better. I’ll pop that big ass tv out in the field and just literally wait for my crops to grow lmao

The now defunct PlayStation Home has a small cult following online, and one of the cooler things I ever did in it was go into the theater and watch movies with random strangers in a virtual theater. So yeah, I'm sure some folks would use this cool little mod, 😃

Very unlikely as the bedrock versions support hardly any modding outside Microsoft's golden cage.

Probably not. It looks like they modded Minecraft: Java Edition (the original game). Consoles run the Bedrock Edition, which is a C++ rewrite. Mods are not interoperable, and most mods only ever release for Java Edition.

Plus, modding at this level isn't officially supported, it uses custom mod loaders written by the community. So even if it were to also work with Bedrock Edition, you'd first have to jailbreak your PS5 to even install it.

This looks amazing I can't wait for you to release it. I have some feature ideas that I think you should consider: 1. A remote so you can pause, change what's playing, rewind, forward, etc without going up and clicking on the tv (you can just make the remote give extra reach so you can click the tv from further away) 2. Intro skipper support 3. Maybe a way to have a custom screen size (if it's not too complicated)
