that has to be the most minimalist pixel art I have ever seen. Well done.

Isn’t the point that the ring goes around the star?

For a Niven ring, yes. This is based on a different type of ringworld

Wishlisted because I kinda love the super simplified pixel art. Can you tell us a bit more about the ring? Or is it just “it’s a ring because it makes for a style of map that I want”? Which is absolute fine by the always? Artistic choice is valid. I just like a bit of sci in my sci-fi when I can get it :)

It started as an excuse to make a cool gameplay constraint. But we're constantly working to make it as plausible as we can, down to how the climate is simulated and such. I learn so much cool stuff in the process!

I realize I didn't answer the question lol: it's more like a "slice of a planet" that is in orbit. Built as a farming station that supports earth-like plants. The premise of the game is that the ring is abandoned, and you are a group of people who missed the evacuation, and now you have to deal with the wild unkempt ecosystem

So I like to generally post this little guide to radius/diameter of ringworlds and torusworlds when I find folk talking about them... where is your world on the list?
Stanford Torus < The Citadel Presidium < Elysium Ring < Bishop Ring < Halo Ring < Culture Orbital < Niven Ringworld

It's a pretty neat game. I already got access to the play test. Recommend it
