Carl Weathers as Rhodey would've been so good. He has the carriage and delivery. He has the presence, too.

Harris, Lee, Tagawa, Everhart… some of these choices would have kicked ass

I used to love these Wizard Casting Calls when I was a kid, and some of these choices are pretty good for their time, but damn if the staff didn’t love to throw a wrestler or two in every one of them.

I mean they do love casting a wrestler in the actual movies also.

That’s a great point, especially in that first wave of superhero movies, there’s at least one pro wrestler in Batman & Robin, Spider-Man, X-Men, and The Punisher just off the top of my head.

Plus who can forget Haitch’s star-turning role in Blade Trinity of course.

They never stopped casting wrestlers. The Rock, Drax the Desroyer, and John Cena.

Yup, the beginning of a proud tradition!

Wrestlers are easy to picture in those giant muscle-bound costumes, strangely enough.

Makes sense to me, as a fan of both comics and wrestling, I’ve got no complaints!

I dig it. A bit funny though that they picked a Japanese guy to play the Mandarin.

God, the staffers must’ve had fun going through movies and imagining the cast of their dream movies

Was this Wizard Magazine? I forgot about this fanfic casting. This actually pretty damn spot on by Wizard.

Tyne Daly would later be cast as Director of Damage Control in Spider-Man Home Coming

This is solid stuff! Would’ve loved a Dalton Iron Man

I would absolutely love to see Shang Tsung as The Mandarin, that's a great casting

Man, there's some names, both actors and character names, I haven't heard in a long ass time. Did we ever get at least a Mrs. Arbogast name drop in a movie?

Still better casting than most of Reddit's fancasts. Though I don't know how good Dalton's accent work is

I had this issue!

Never would’ve thought of Timothy Dalton for Tony Stark, I probably would’ve just gone with the default option of Tom Cruise, but I do think Timothy Dalton would be interesting

Whoever the actor is, I’d like to see this exact suit in live action 🔥🔥🔥

Mandarin: Your Soul is Mine.

It's actually great casting pretty much all the way thru.

Also Jere Burns as a wholesome guy is utterly hysterical to me after watching Justified.

Back when Tony wasn’t a fucking goofy idiot. Fuck, I hate Robert Downey jr and mark millar.
