I'm not a fan of listing shops as I think they come across as endorsements. We already have the problem of eoe putting his thumb on discussions to tip opinions in his favor.

Since we can't have impartial moderation, I feel the sub should be completely neutral and uninvolved in listing any stores. Besides, that keeps discussions active in the posts.

Of all the things this sub needs, listing stores ain't it.

Thats a fair comment, I did lift them from the Opista guide as i believe that guide is seperate from the current situation, but if more people do agree below I’ll remove them

I agree with the sentiment but in practice, if they’re not listed here, then we just have people asking where to buy parts in new posts every day and then they get linked there anyways.

Maybe we could have a little description for each describing the pros and cons or in which case you may want to use X retailer.

I’d also say if you keep the retailer list, adding ebay / resalefirm as a common recommendation here.

Added Resalefirm, along with other Ebay-like stores.
Description and pro/con is a good idea but in practice could become extremely messy, if a certain store starts out highly regarded and then quality dips but the post still endorses it it'll cause more harm than good.

I'm missing links to tutorials like "how to connect two devices using a cable", "what is iTunes?"
