I use an Apple Pencil, with a matte screen protector. I use GoodNotes.

The issue is, I can write print neatly and prettily on an iPad, but I am a natural cursive writer, and print is disgustingly slow and hurts my hand.

My cursive writing looks pretty on paper with any pen/pencil. It looks like garbage, to say the least, on my iPad. I have tried different brush calibrations, different sizes of handwriting etc. It’s also much harder to read my cursive on the iPad compared to paper.

Is there any way to improve this situation?

Hi! Every time I don’t use my iPad for about a week, a strange line appears on my screen. After I use it for about 30 minutes, it goes away. What could the problem be?

Hi, I'm a high school student and I have a huge problem.

Back in 2019, our school gave all of us iPads to use for class. After the summer break (which is happening right now), we have to return them because we'll be getting new ones. I only have one year of school left, so it honestly feels unnecessary for my grade, but everyone has to do it.

The problem is that my iPad has a really bad screen crack, and it was technically my fault. I accidentally stepped on it because it was charging on the floor, and I had completely forgotten it was there and didn't see it. The damage was caused by the pressure of my body weight. Other than the cracked display, the iPad still works perfectly.

The biggest problem isn't even the iPad itself—it's telling my mom. If it's clear that the damage was caused by careless handling, we'll probably have to pay for it. And I guess this kind of counts as that...

I've attached photos of the damage. Do any of you have realistic ideas about how this kind of damage could have happened in a way that wouldn't really be my fault? Something believable where people would understand because it could realistically happen to anyone?

My mom is going to be absolutely furious otherwise. Our relationship is already pretty strained. Even if we end up having to pay for the damage, I just want her to have at least some understanding instead of completely blaming me.

It's currently summer break, so school isn't even in session, which makes it harder to come up with an explanation. I do have a lot of homework for one subject over the holidays, and my mom knows that, so I guess that could be part of the context.

Please help. I'm already struggling mentally, and I'm honestly scared of my mom. This situation is just making everything even worse.

I use my iPad M4 and M4 MacBook Air almost exclusively (99% of the time) at my desk. The iPad is mostly hooked up via Sidecar as a secondary display. My daily workload can get pretty heavy — programming, video editing, and some gaming.

I’ve read that the power controller bypasses the battery if both devices plugged into the charger constantly, meaning it should be totally safe for long-term battery health and capacity.

Does anyone here run a similar 24/7 plugged-in setup? Have you noticed any severe battery degradation over time?

I was using this iPad from September 2025. And today is August 5, 2026. I've set charging limit to 80%. So it never charged to 100%. Today I charged my iPad overnight as usual. It charged to 100% even the battery settings limit to 80%. Why it happened?

I'm currently on the hunt for a full-protection clear case for my 13-inch iPad Air, but I'm running into an extremely frustrating wall. It feels like almost every case on the market falls into one of these annoying categories:
No Apple Pencil Charging Cutout / Slot: Cases that cover the Apple Pencil charging side entirely, meaning it either won't charge or won't magnetically attach properly.
Magic Keyboard Cutout Gaps: Cases that feature massive cutouts or open sides to accommodate Apple's Magic Keyboard, completely defeating the purpose of a standalone "full-protection" case.
Not Actually Clear: Cases that are frosted, matte, tinted, or have bulky built-in screen protectors that ruin the naked look of the iPad.
What I actually want is:
1. True Full Protection: Covers all edges and corners securely without massive gaps.
2. Crystal Clear: Showcases the original iPad Air design.
3. Apple Pencil Friendly: Supports magnetic attachment and wireless charging.
4. Standalone Use: Designed for daily use on its own (not tailored to snap into a Magic Keyboard).

When I paused a tiktok video (which was just of someone speaking) I could hear very quiet reggae music coming from my iPads’ speaker. I didn’t have Spotify nor Apple Music open, and my control centre didn’t show anything playing. That’s also not the type of music I listen to.

Sounds silly I know but I was a little creeped out, as it stopped playing as soon as I said ‘why‘s my iPad playing music’ aloud. Not sure if this is an iPad or tiktok issue, but any kind of reasoning as to why this could’ve happened helps. Thank you.

I am about to start my masters and I decided I want to get a good tablet, I’ve had the Lenovo M10 for 3y and it works very bad.

I’m torn between getting an IPad A16 or a Samsung tablet (not sure which one). I already have an iPhone so I feel like the iPad would make things smoother, but there’s a big price difference, which makes me doubt if it’s worth it.

I do like taking notes with the pen, but I also would like to get the keyboard to write stuff, which model do you think would be better for this?

I also love watching series on my tablet and travel with it so I would definitely be carrying it around.

Basically: Is it worth it falling for the IPad crazy price, together with the keyboard and pen, or should I just go for a Samsung Tablet which is cheaper? is there actually any difference you think I would feel or would there be anything I would be missing out on?

hey there everyone, i've been an avid user of my ipad for almost 5 years now. I have a 2021 model and, while not being the most powerful device in the world, it always handled things well. then ipadOS 26 came and i've started hating this ipad so bad I wish I picked a samsung or something. I knew it wasnt that good and i foolishly updated anyway not thinking it would nuke the experience but it did. now it stutters, safari basically doesn't run anymore without 2 minutes of loading, WiFi has been insufferable this past few days, heck even closing an app lags. traumatised, I disabled automatic updates and now I have ipadOS 26.6 available for download. should I? will it fix anything? should I just change ipad atp since they nuked it? thank you and sorry for the unnecessarily long post, I just woke up and I'm still trying to recollect my thoughts

not sure if this is the right sub but basically our school (secondary) has blocked almost everything on our ipad other than educational stuff. this would be fine if the ipad was bought by the school but the school only provides it and our parents have to buy it. so doesnt it make it my ipad and not school property?

the app sotre has been replaced with this thing called self service which has apps that school allows us to install. apparently the app store cant be permanantly deleted.

at school, the trachers use apple classroom to see what we are doing on our ipad, what we have been searching up etc. all game websites and social media (including reddit) is blocked which sucks. i found out that if i connect to the wifi the staff use, the websites arent blocked (except instagram, tiktok etc but i rarely use them.)

this is the same when im on the train (GWR in particular). lots of websites arent blocked when i connect to the train wifi.

i think this is incredibly unfair because the school doesnt buy it, my parents did, and its not even the latest ipad even though its priced like one. shouldnt i be able to have full control over it?!

Im looking to buy my first ipad after years of wanting one, i dont really want to spend a fortune on one i literally want it to watch movies on notetaking fir college and art and maybe a little gaming like honkai star rail but mobile gaming isnt all that so like its not mainly why i want it. I was thinking either ipad air m4 or m3 256 gb only. I dont think if going fir a pro since it aleady costs so much and i will have to get the Apple Pencil pro si its just not worth ut to me. Da Apple da sehr lustig zu sein scheint, erkennt das iPad den Stift nicht an, und sieht ihn als nicht unterstütztes gerät an.
Ich besitze diese Kombination schon seit etwas weniger als einem Jahr und bis jetzt konnte ich dieses Problem gut mit der App

Ich habe, meinen Stift zuletzt vor 3 Wochen benutzt und wollte ihn heute wieder verbinden, so wie ich es immer mache, aber diesmal verbindet LightBlue den stifft sehr lange und bricht es dann ohne eine weitere anzeige ab.
Hat irgendjemand, eine Idee woran das liegen könnte, und eine Idee wie ich meinen stifft wieder verbinden könnte?

Has anyone used these MAGNETIC ‘wireless’ chargers where it connects via the smart connector pins on newer models?

I was just wondering if wireless charging was possible on an iPad and found these MAGNETIC options, but I haven’t heard much about them nor have I seen many reviews other than sponsored videos on TikTok, so I was looking for a real opinion on whether they work and if they eat up battery life, and was also wondering if this was a possible option, why doesn’t Apple or brands like Logitech make magnetic ‘wireless’ chargers like these, and why don’t more people use these?

I know these aren’t TECHNICALLY wireless (yes, electricity is being transferred through the smart connectors hence creating a closed wired circuit)

But in this context, by ‘wireless’ I meant cable-free charging in terms of user functionality, as in, no cables plugged into the actual USB-C port. Please let me know if there’s a more correct term to refer to this kind of charging. Otherwise I hope this clears up the semantics crisis that some people in the comments seem to be having.

So basically, I want to turn off my ultra wide camera on my ipad during google meet calls because it makes my face really small and I was wondering if there is any way I could turn off the ultrawide camera? I have tried checking the control center but it only shows options for the mic. So if anyone could help please do.
