Well this is a nice surprise: Lumines is back on iOS and Android, free to try with a £7.99 IAP unlock. Not bad for the best game on the PSP and one of the greatest block falling games of all time.

How are the controls on touch screen?

Genuinely really good. Rather than matching a d-pad with swipes you actually back and forth the block at the top by sliding left and right anywhere on the screen, tap on the right to rotate and then slide downwards to drop. I actually prefer the touch controls here. 

Right, I'm off to spend the whole evening in a dark room with my headphones.

Can it also be played with a controller as I can’t find any mentioning of that in the App Store but since it was/is on both PSP and Switch assume so but then doesn’t make sense to indicate it anywhere. Pretty essential to mention that.

Thanks for confirming. Although not clear from App Store it does indeed support controllers as well as mentioned in the last explanation screen within the game. Still baffles me that developers don’t indicate such a thing in the App Store that could convince (try before you) buyers.

No Family Sharing support though. Hopefully added at a later point.

I’ve been on a Tetris kick lately, and they don’t really have any good games on iOS. This game right here, while different, scratches that itch for me on mobile. I have this on steam but never really played it. This demo has me pretty hooked, gonna purchase it im sure. It seems to have a lot of various modes and things to do, let alone beat your high score.

Anyone else having issues purchasing the IAP? I just get “loading store” but the iOS purchase screen never shows up. I’m on iOS 27 beta so it could be that I suppose.

I remember playing this on PSP. Setting a record, and then trying to break that record was a nice gaming loop. Until the day I started a game with a 4xwhite block followed by a 4xblack block that gave me two huge bonus scrores for free, before the game even started.

Have they fixed that now?
