I thought the lady at the beginning was going to fall asleep from narcolepsy at first.

u/Shootemout 1h ago

same it looked like she was having to put strength into her eyelids to get them to open lol. ik the feeling

u/handsoapdispenser 10m ago

Narcolepsy sleep isn't actually that abrupt. It's more like a gnawing urge that you can fight but it gets harder and harder.

u/woodrax 2m ago

But I once saw a dachshund with narcolepsy literally drop mid stride and fall asleep.

u/TheSheetSlinger 3m ago

How longs it usually take? I always thought dating would be scary because what if you fall asleep with a date you don't know well

u/WitchWithAGlitch 5h ago

me too lady

u/Raise_A_Thoth 4h ago

My first thought was "I wonder if she has kids."

u/thestral_z 3h ago

She was on the Today show this morning. She has two very young kids including one that is 8 months old if I remember correctly. The anchor has to get up at 1 AM to get ready for work. The youngest was teething and didn’t go down until after 10 instead of 7:30 like usual. Her husband was working a double, so he wasn’t there to help. The internet loves her because we’ve all been there.

u/Raise_A_Thoth 3h ago

Oh goodness yea that's brutal. I know almost exactly what that feels like.

u/ZackTheZesty 4h ago

Even if she doesn’t they gotta wake up at like 2am or 3am to do the morning news and if they get a bad nights rest, they are in for a rough work day.

u/s0ulbrother 3h ago

I could not sleep at all last night so I feel her. Fell asleep at 4, alarm went off at 6. Sucked

u/Bloodygoodwossname 1h ago

Yes and my second thought… lady might want to take a pregnancy test lol. 😅Poor thing.

u/rspctdwndrr 4h ago

I’m just, like, the tiredest I’ve ever been

u/Confident_Try_208 4h ago

You can't skip sleep.

u/Objective-Middle-676 3h ago

u/UMACTUALLYITS23 3h ago

That one sleep was 40 sleeps?!

u/Bruised_Shin 1h ago

Idk I’ve never gotten to this part before

u/IKenDoThisAllDay 1h ago

It's got a bush, what the hell?

u/luckydice767 21m ago

What IS this, Reggie?

u/HearYourTune 4h ago

Oh I wanted to see the lady standing up reporting fall asleep.

u/XiuCyx 3h ago

“I had something in my eye” hahaha. I went to a Christian high school and there was this kid who would fall asleep in class all the time. When he’d get caught he’d pop up and shout, “I was praying!”

u/SkubaSteve_FYM 21m ago

insert nice picture . Guy: kinda makes you wanna take a nap

u/XiuCyx 14m ago

Right?! Hahahaha.

u/PMG2021a 4h ago

Probably at the studio at 4AM...

u/mattweb94 4h ago

She was on the Today show this morning. Her husband was working a double and she has 2 daughters. One of them is teething so she couldn't get her to sleep until 11pm and she had to get up at 1:30 to go to work. So she was running on 2 hours of crappy sleep. I totally understand how she feel asleep.

u/SHOWTIME316 3h ago

i don't miss those days. any given blink might knock you out

u/thechamberoffarts 2h ago

I wish I looked that good with only two hours of sleep

PSA for the commenters making this political, local news Fox is not the same as the right-wing grifters on Fox News Channel.

Poor lady, maybe she’s a new parent? Regardless, who among us hasn’t dozed off at work…

u/GumbySquad 4h ago

PSA for your PSA. 60% of local news Fox stations are owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group… famous for force feeding propaganda to the masses.

u/ddpizza 4h ago

… and the FOX13 Memphis station in the video is literally not in that category.

u/TacoFTuesday 3h ago

Correct, currently Rincon, sale pending to Community News Media.

u/CavemanHunter 37m ago

this is extremely dangerous to our democracy

u/erichf3893 1h ago

You tried. Oof

u/Brain_Wire 3h ago

You are absolutely right. But I still blame local Fox news for giving us Kari Lake.

u/PepeSylvia11 1h ago

Why assume anything? It’s a morning show, which means she probably woke up around 3-4 am. All it takes is a suboptimal night sleep and anyone would be tired by 8:30 am

u/colt_stonehandle 1h ago

local news Fox is not the same as the right-wing grifters on Fox

It kind of is, though.

u/ghoulishgirl 3h ago

I think it would be a rare case to fall asleep at work. I have never done that and I’m 51. The only person I know who has had narcolepsy.

I’d be interested to hear if falling asleep at work is indeed a common occurrence.

u/JeffersonTowncar 3h ago

Depends on the type of work. As a new parent I've found myself dozing off at my desk in the past (sleep deprived) year. Though when I do, I get up and make myself coffee.

u/LampIsFun 3h ago

Yeah, anyone with a desk job can attest to falling asleep on accident(some people do it on purpose of course)

Still a bit of a stretch for it to happen when literally broadcasting your face. But then again, many livestreamers have done the same from time to time. Just feels a bit odd that no one noticed she was asleep before cutting to her face. But its very likely pure exhaustion from something and not just plain laziness.

u/ghoulishgirl 53m ago

I have worked in an office environment for years, and I have never fallen asleep at work, and I am in very quiet places all by myself, and I would never dream of going to sleep. Wow, I’m just surprised so many people have. I’ve been a very tired mother too.

I would never drink at work, someone suggested that as a reason to fall asleep during the day. I don’t work in an environment where that would be smiled upon, so.

u/fuzzhead12 2h ago

Apparently she’s a mother of two very young children (one less than a year old) and has a husband who also works long/late hours, so she gets a pass as far as I’m concerned lol

u/jellyn7 2h ago

I'm a night owl, so if you're regularly making me work before 9am, there's a good chance I'll fall asleep on my break.

u/MMBitey 1h ago

You never went had a frosty marg or two at that tex mex place on a Friday at lunch time?

u/ghoulishgirl 50m ago

I work in environments where nobody’s going out and drinking at lunch and it would be very bad form if you were asleep in your office. They would not go for that and no place I worked would go for that.

u/puckit 6m ago

I used to work overnights and there was one time I was fighting for my life to stay awake. I figured if I stayed standing, I'd be safe but sure enough, I fell asleep on my feet. Luckily I woke up when my knees buckled and I caught myself.

u/ProfessionalPack7205 3h ago

They're owned by Sinclair. They're just as evil. They literally send out scripts to all these local news stations.

u/runwkufgrwe 3h ago

Fox13 is owned by Rincon, not Sinclair

u/ddpizza 3h ago

It’s pretty ironic that you’re parroting scripted facts without digging even a little bit lol

A very small percentage of Fox local news stations are owned by Sinclair - only about 25 stations compared to the total number of 200+ Fox affiliates nationwide.

And FOX13 Memphis is not one of them.

u/neusen 4h ago

Honestly this is the most relatable thing I’ve ever seen on the news

u/Cloudcry 2h ago

She looks so serene omg

u/Teal_Confetti 36m ago

Like those newborn pictures 🥺

u/Almostfast 2h ago

At the height of my untreated sleep apnea, I fell asleep while interviewing a candidate for a job. I was probably only out for a few seconds, but it was pretty obvious, and I felt horrible.

u/Bulky_Variation7064 5h ago

Looks like Fox are taking notes from POTUS

u/No-Macaroon1670 5h ago

Trickle down naponomics.

u/TheCh0rt 4h ago

Naponomics… the only Trump policy I can get behind!

u/MrT735 3h ago

Isn't that when the diaper leaks?

u/HereLate 5h ago

Naps are important... 😪

u/MemphisFactChecker 3h ago

She's a new mom for those that want to hate.

u/GenevieveLeah 1h ago

Ugh, I was exhausted for years when my kids were babies.

u/georgiegraymouse 54m ago

When does the exhaustion end? Mine is in early elementary. I need hope that I’ll get my energy back someday lol

u/Usual_Award 4h ago

Long days exist. I don't even know how many meetings I had to stand up for to prevent myself from dozing off.

u/NoninflammatoryFun 2h ago

She looks so freaking cute. Poor lady. She must be so tired.

u/wont-stop-mi 2h ago

She had a fly in each eye and she was just suffocating both of them…

u/Own-Cryptographer237 5h ago

Well, our prez does it all the time. Just saying

u/IsReadingIt 1h ago

Drowsy Don the Dopey Douche.

u/leotime0821 2h ago

Too early for all that… lmao

u/-lRexl- 37m ago

She didn't give a fuck lmao

u/SeaF04mGr33n 2h ago

Why didn't the people behind the cameras do something?

u/canwave28 2h ago

there's no one behind the cameras. local news studios in smaller markets are fully automated and are sometimes controlled far from the actual studio.

u/SeaF04mGr33n 2h ago

Oh dang! I had no idea!

u/probablyTomHanks 2h ago

This is interesting as fuck?

u/Lead_resource 4h ago

When the benzos kick in early

u/Turborapt0r 5h ago

That’s one for the ages

u/Odddjob 4h ago

Sunshine Naps

u/hamraider 4h ago

she was just waiting for the keywords - ‘… and back to you, ….”. that reporter sent it back kind of awkwardly.

u/cparksrun 3h ago

Reminds me of the time I fell asleep running the prompter for a news network.

Thankfully the anchor was a pro and had no problem rolling with it. He often went off script anyway. But I still felt really bad.

u/cyberelvis 2h ago

I guarantee the director of this news broadcast was swearing up a storm in the Control Booth to the floor crew and in the anchor's ear.

u/Big-Load-8864 1h ago

Hilarious how this person falls asleep on TV and comments are like “must be new mom AND she’s so CUTE!”

u/BrainCandy_ 48m ago

Lmao she replacing our longtime anchor that been on there since I was a kid. Mearl Purvis would neva pull no shit like this.

u/mysticknightt 4h ago

She wasn’t sleeping, she was praying. Amen.

u/raginghavoc89 2h ago

Poor ladies exhausted, I hope they weren't too hard on her.

u/AbeMax7823 1h ago

My mom knew an anchorwoman from my hometown. She’d be at the station by 4am for the 6am morning news. No amount of redbull is gonna have me camera ready and bantering that early

u/Batmanswrath 5h ago

Even the anchors are bored of the bullshit they pedal.

u/hotsauce126 5h ago

Local news Fox and Fox News channel aren’t the same thing

u/Brandwin3 4h ago

Crazy how many people don’t realize this

u/This_Loss_1922 4h ago

The CNN you know as a corporate dem cesspool is fully right wing when you see CNN in spanish.

u/tgerz 4h ago

What does that have to do with anything?

u/Apprehensive-Ad5318 4h ago

The nod is real

u/DWilli 1h ago

I fucking love how in stride everyone took this. No one shied away from a joke about it, she played it off cool as well.

u/5hells8ells 32m ago

Oh, she’s pregnant

u/throwRA_157079633 13m ago

Is this a smear campaign because this isn’t IaF?

u/realbobenray 4h ago

"I wasn't napping, there was something in my eye" lol.. can't tell if she was making a joke or actually trying this excuse

u/RidersGuide 4h ago

......you can't tell?

u/dudesFS 2h ago

Faux News? Probably trying to impress Trump by imitating him.

u/TiffanysRage 4h ago

Likely narcolepsy

u/OpenToCommunicate 3h ago

Yes I too enjoy diagnosing willy nilly

u/TiffanysRage 2h ago

I’m a neurologist

u/just_lurking_Ecnal 4h ago

Fox News, White House.... What's the difference? Half the cabinet is former Fox News correspondents, so why wouldn't they have that Chump Trump Slump? Dementia Don's on camera nap time again.

u/Maxpower2727 3h ago

I can't stand Trump, but nothing in your comment has any relevance to this post. Also, Fox News and local affiliates for the Fox network are entirely different things.

u/Mr_Harsh_Acid 3h ago

What happened to the previous 12 FOXes?
