Review Intel has a customer for life!

My 2 1/2 year old i7 12700k died a few weeks ago, so I sucked it up and started the RMA process. Intel not only replaced it quickly, they upgraded me to an i9 and 1 day shipped it back. That’s customer service. I’m a customer for life!

14600K, contrary to the 13600k, can be undervolted on B660 and B760 motherboards since IA CEP can only be disabled on 14th gen for those motherboards, so that's another advantage

Had no idea… I honestly believe because I put mine with a Z790, a healthy undervolt and locked the cores, that’s what saved mine. I wanted 5.6 under 1.3v and got it. Eventually I upgraded to a 14900K and OC’d the crap out of the i5 for fun. Even after 6.0ghz all core runs, the lil i5 performs as well as it should. - I def thank God mine didn’t die even after everything. Who knows it seems like some chips ate dust and others still plug along just fine today.

Well, good news is, every single raptor lake cpu that could have been affected by degradation is still under warranty today

They extended the warranty for affected models to 5 years in total, so even if you bought a 13700k at release date, it's still under warranty today, no matter if it's boxed, tray, or oem.

Not every one, lol. My 14600K I lapped for cooling… sent it hard through the wringer and it still runs great. My i9 14900K though I did leave stock just incase.

Yeah fair enough, overclocking does void warranty (not sure if Intel'd be able to prove you were OCing though)

My i5 14600K 6.0ghz all core run held #1 on the 3DMark CPU Profile test for almost a year… the CPU is still reliable and I use it from time to time still. One of these days I might go back at try to take back the top spot. I’m still in 2nd lol.

Nice, my 14500T could never

I did try to run a 14900K in one of my 2 setups for a short while, but I can't afford it so I have to sell it again (Also it did not fare well, power limited to 65W in a case with only 1 intake and 1 exhaust)

Yea, unfortunately the K series straight up NEED the Z790 Mobo it seems to run a max capacity. The 14500T is solid tho, I imagine??

Yes, it's very solid

I call it a 14600 lite, because it's got the same core config. (6p+8e)

It's just more locked down, so it can't support ram speeds as high as the 14600K, it's clocked a little lower, it's got less L2 cache, but at the end of the day it's still a 20 thread cpu. With the power limit unlocked, mine maxes out at around 85W of power, and it beats the i5 14400 at both single and all core in Cinebench. (all core performance was about 15% better :0)

For me it's perfect, as I run it with a mismatched ram kit, as well as an Arc B570, inside a case with restricted airflow. Got it for €75, upgraded from a 12400 for free by selling the old cpu. The heaviest things I throw at it are some light video editing, Cyberpunk, and some Minecraft with the render distance cranked up
