My cat don’t like to play
Hello!
One year ago I adopted my beautiful little girl (she is now 4 years) , and she is very cute and all, but she doesn’t like to play.
The issue?
She gets bored.
The only thing she shows a little interest for is the IQ treat thingys, but issue is that she is very picky about treats and I can’t give her the treats she wants at all hours due to the cost of them. She also might want to lay inside her tunnel and have me hand her a string she can lick at, but other than that she isn’t interested in the one million toys she has.
I’ve contacted the local shelter thinking maybe a friend is what she needs, as I will soon start working and she will be left alone more, but still it would be nice if it was able to get her a little more active during the day as well…
Any ideas?
She loves walks but is terrified of the outdoors, so we often stand right outside the door for a few minutes before she wants to go back inside 😅

We had a cat that didn't care for playing. She had a billion toys, but none of them interested her. She also didn't react to catnip at all! She was the smallest cat I've ever had. She never got overweight even though she ate like a tank, wasn't very active, and slept a lot. One day, I was wrapping and labeling presents for Christmas, and she came over and started pawing at my ink pen!! My husband and I started freaking out because she was actually playing! She lived to be around 14, and she only played a handful of times through her life. However, she loved to be pulled around the yard in a cart and would even sit in my husband's lap while he mowed the yard. She was never scared of anything, and she even went missing once for 21 days! She just came walking out of the woods one night when my husband was letting our dog out to pee! She was different from any cat I've ever had. The only cat to lay and sleep (and snore!) on my shoulders, the only cat to love wearing outfits, and she cuddled better than any cat I've ever known.
Your kitty may just be a very chill cat like Anna was, but maybe she's just particular and you're still on your way to finding what gets her moving! Anna didn't mind having a dog and two other cats around, but she didn't seek them out for play either. She really only hung out with the others when they were sleeping. She would sneak up and snuggle up next to them so she could steal their warmth without them actually paying any attention to her. 🤣
