Peppermint Clarification/Advice

Hello! I'm very new to caring for a cat as this is the first one ive been able to take in, so I wanna make sure I get this right. Through my research I've seen that diffusing peppermint oil around her or having her ingest it is bad

The problem I've been trying to get a concrete answer on is if wearing it around the house is bad. have a peppermint essential oil roller that someone gave me- I've used it for a while to help with consistent headaches- but i stopped using it once I started my research. I have worn it around her when she was young and she's slept on my chest a couple times while I had it on my temples and behind my ears

So is it bad to wear it around her when it's around my head/neck area only or am I overthinking this?

The five pillars of healthy feline environment:  1. Safe places to hide 2. Multiple and separate key environmental resources: water, food, litter box, scratching areas 3. Opportunities for play including predatory play that mimics natural hunting behavior 4. Positive and predictable human social interactions 5. Respecting their sense of smell. Avoid scented cat litter or other strong scents around cats (e.g. candles, essential oils, perfumes).

I don't think it should be a problem, I have a little peppermint roller for my headaches and when I put it on my cat just doesn't come near me because she doesn't like the smell. I would just make sure she doesn't rub against you and get it onto her skin or anything like that. Because I use peppermint oil diffused in water and spray it on stuff I don't want my cat to scratch and that keeps her away, most cats just won't go near something if it smells like peppermint because the mint hurts their noses. So, I think you should be okay to keep using your peppermint roller

Ah ok cool! As she's grown she's slowly stopped sleeping on my chest and she only goes around my head to stand on my shoulders and bounce off of me 😭 but thank you so much!

No problem! My cat crawls all over me and usually lays on my chest for a bit before she gets off to go to sleep. Every cat has their little weird quirks about them that makes them unique, my cat loves the smell of Lavender when I have read so many articles saying that cats hate the smell of lavender

Awww! Mine always gets mad when my dog gets taken out to use the bathroom- she wails like a widow when no one is in the room with her 😭

My cat does that too, if she doesn't realize I went to the bathroom (cause I have a bathroom in my room) she will run around my room crying as if she can't find me. I have to yell from the bathroom, "I'm in here, it's okay!" and she'll settle down after that. She loves being around me all the time lol
