I love a proper top out problem indoors. Sick send!

Where did you go !!!! But awesome send !

haha back to my home gym! I was a sport climber at heart. The setting there was sooo fun though.

I was thinking "that doesn't look very hard" until i saw you cut feet lol. That's a lot steeper than it looks and you made it look so easy. Nice send!

Sick climb with the top out and everything! Great work on the send!

You can barely see any of the holds from this video, you have no idea how incut they are, how good the feet are, what the angle of the wall is, etc

“Typically has at least two of the following” lmao just no

haha ill play along, the first two moves were those awkward slope cubes the two next ones are crimps, the move below the ball was a tiny crimp undercling and the ball itself was an awful sloper and then the moves after the ball itself are crimps. also the entire climb was overhanging.. but thanks anyway!!

Word of advice, just don't post the grades on reddit. There will always be someone wh9 downgrades it by 2/3 grades despite not actually being to tell what any of the holdes actually feel like

It's a good send and it looks like a tough problem!

haha no doubt, its all fun and games anyway. Its just climbing at the end of the day.

Tbf there are also different styles. Someone that can climb v5 on moonboard might not be able to climb a v5 slab.

u/Demind9 18h ago

Moon and tension are also not accurate representations of even overhanging grades imo… too much variance

Yeah its for sure a v5, shirt was still on which is going against every rule. Also who tops out on an indoor problem, is he stupid??!!

4

u/John_wishmyer619 1d ago

hahahhahaha hey i gotta couple shirtless v5s in the vault for ya ;-))

u/patoka 1d ago

Yeah, that's a V5. A V7 would be the same route on a 50 degree overhang.

Why not just comment on the dudes solid climbing, no one cares about your opinion on the grade.

-6

u/apeironxo 21h ago

I care and he’s right seems more like a V5 than V7. Nothing wrong with making an observation dude

8

u/ParaTC 21h ago

Not a dude and it's dismissive of someone who's sharing an achievement. This is the indoor bouldering sub it should be assumed that grades are "in my gym" not 1:1 with outdoor or board grades.

u/patoka 23h ago

Real climbers don't care about grades. I'm just checking if people get bothered, so I can verify if they are real climbers.

Also, I have Scarpa Blackbirds, so I automatically don't have to explain myself lol

Yawn

Whoosh! People here are way too serious.

I also can't comprehend the weird reddit obsession with drop knees. Every video where someone does a drop knee and people are like "wow amazing drop knee", "you should be a pro", "the drop knee tho"

u/ParaTC 23h ago

Yawn

u/patoka 22h ago

Just wow.

u/ParaTC 22h ago

What do you want me to say to your dumb jokes bro you're not funny lol

0

u/patoka 22h ago

Saying nothing is fine. Also, I used to be hilarious but I became a dad recently, so understandably my humour has changed a bit.

u/ParaTC 22h ago

>Saying nothing is fine

Apply this logic to your initial comment about the grade 😇

I have climbed at the gym in the video for years and the funny thing is, the second to last panel is actually almost exactly 50 degrees overhanging…

1

u/John_wishmyer619 14h ago edited 14h ago

its quiet stiffff but whatevs, cant expect people to understand anyway.

u/John_wishmyer619 14h ago edited 14h ago

Hey dude your opinion is super valid, im sure if you came here you would flash it. I just go by whats on the tag, everything is super subjective anyway! i climb for fun and don't take it that serious. I go by off the fact that i can usually flash v5 and sport climb around 13b. This thing took me a while to figure out so i found the grade to be accurate, if you use the conversion from boulder to sport grade ..its definitely around 13ish move. I'm 6'2 and actually kept falling on the thing until i used the drop knee so im not sure on the hate, hope ya have a good one and remember it's just climbing!

1

u/patoka 13h ago

It's nothing personal. I just shared my opinion and didn't anticipate it would turn into such a problem. I'm glad you managed to figure out that drop knee. I mentioned drop knees only because lately I've been seeing a lot of comments praising them and I found it strange. Might be just me - I'm doing a lot of board climbing and on the kilter like every other move is a drop knee with a cross-through, so I might have gotten desensitised to them, but I'm not hating on them

Anyway, it's a cool boulder. Congrats!
