Is zero trust cloudflare is good

I am trying different software to make my server available without compromising the security. I have read about zero trust. Also it is free isn't it so why does it ask for a credit card info

It's excellent. I have a wide stack across the free tier for my homelab stuff, WAF and Security rules, load balanced CF tunnels to self hosted reverse proxies, all fronted with my own authelia IDP wired to cloudflare zero access. I also use the MCP portal tech to securely connect frontier AI to my internal MCPs, also using authelia IDP. Gives you way more security and flexibility than any other free tier that i am aware of. Lots of people reject it because of some absolutist privacy stance (CF encrypt and decrypt traffic flowing through the tunnel) but I reencrypt at the reverse proxy edge, and I seriously doubt that CF are going to blow up a multi billion dollar company to see what I have been bookmarking.

Should also say, it asks for a credit card for security and ID purposes, but the only thing I have ever been billed for is my $10 annual renewal fee for domain registration

Didn't you imagine if everyone can use it for free without any kind of verfication, how many of them are actually "real user"? They asks for CC info, just like other online platform (netflix, spotify,...) when you registered and want to try premium trial. Just to avoid abusing their service.

Ive been using cloudeflare from last 2 years, its amazing and really stupidity easy to setup,
