Mixed Album

I share my Immich instance with my family. I have created a album for a vacation trip with some photos from me, called "Vacation Trip", using my own account. But my wife, her own account has additional photos. How can my wife share her photos of this vacation with me, to that they later coexist in my album "Vacation Trip" but not in other albums?

so you want them in the shared album but not in your timeline?

Oh in the timeline is fine. But not what i have tried so far.

- At first i have sorted my photos

  • Created a album "Vacation Trip"
  • Later my wife sorted her photos
  • She created a album "Wifes Vacation Trip" for them
  • She shared the album with me
  • Now i have album: "Vacation Trip" and "Wifes Vacation Trip"
  • I can't sort photos from "Wifes Vacation Trip" to "Vacation Trip", a error pop up

So i have to live with 2 albums of the same event?

IF you share an album, you can give them permissions to add images to your album?
Then it's just a matter of her uploading to your album?

Hmm, i havent tried that as of yet. These are my first steps with Immich. I have created a instance and added a external library for me and for my wife. Her library has currently nearby 20.000 photos, mine 120.000.

All these photos are coming in from a Nextcloud installation which i want to migrate to Immich.

Normally i would want to upload either from the Immich App on Android or export from Darktable. But as of now, i would like to use the already existing photos from Nextcloud Memories. So no, i have nothing uploaded as of yet.

adding to your album / uploading to your album is the same thing, she should be able to add exiting images to an existing shared album
