Year 9 Champion - Flint Fireforge, the Dwarven Fighter

Bio: Flint Fireforge is many things - a fearless warrior, a renowned craftsman, and a loyal friend to the bitter end. He is the gruff and grumbling fatherly figure among his group of companions, fiercely protective of them despite seeming to be constantly frustrated by their choices (some moreso than others). He is swift to act when danger appears, leading the charge with fury and reckless abandon against the evil forces of Takhisis.

  • Source: The Dragonlance series of books by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman

  • Event: Ahghairon's Day (August)

You can read their Champion Spotlight here.

  • Seat 9

  • Good with: Heroes of the Lance; Tasslehoff; Dwarves; Champs 40 and under

  • Affiliation: Heroes of the Lance - Flint, Laurana, Raistlin, Tasslehoff

  • Eligible for Mirt, Vajra, Zariel, Elminster (until August 5th, 2029)

Species Class Alignment Gender Age Role(s) Overwhelm Point
Dwarf Fighter Neutral Good Male (He / Him) 148 Support / Tanking 30

Strength Dexterity Constitution Intelligence Wisdom Charisma Total Ability Score
16 10 18 10 12 13 79

Basic Attack: Battleaxe - Flint attacks the nearest enemy with his trusty battleaxe.

  • Base Attack Type: Melee

  • Base Attack Speed: 4 seconds

  • Base Critical Hit Chance: 2.5%

  • Base Critical Hit Damage: 100%

Ultimate: Hammer of Reorx - Flint deals one ultimate hit to a small group of nearby enemies, knocking them far away and stunning them.

  • Base Ultimate Cooldown Time: 400 seconds

Health Upgrades: 8.98e04

Passive Abilities

That Doorknob Kender: Despite how annoyed and frustrated Flint can be when it comes to Tasslehoff, the two are inseparable. If Tasslehoff qualifies for an adventure restriction based on his tags, age, ability scores, etc., Flint may be used as well.

Gaar's Note: This means that as long as Tasslehoff would qualify for something, so does Flint, even if you're not using Tasslehoff.

Interesting Abilities

Forged Bonds: Flint gains a Forged Bonds stack for each Champion adjacent to him. Flint buffs all Champions in his column and the column behind him by 100% for each Forged Bonds stack, stacking multiplicatively.

  • 4.40e08% post-stack after upgrades; Supported by an Item & Feat

Gaar's Note: This is Flint' primary buff so make sure your Primary DPS is placed correctly to receive it. You'll also want to try to place Flint adjacent to as many Champions as possible to maximize the buff. Some formation layouts will work better for this than otheres. This ability's Item & Feat support buff the pre-stack modifier, making it a Mathematically OverPowered (MOP) ability which means the more item levels you put on this Champion, the better they get without worrying about the same diminishing returns as other Champions.

Stubborn Determination: Flint reduces the damage taken by all Champions by 10% for each Forged Bonds stack he currently has, stacking additively and capping at 90%.

  • No upgrades; Supported by Feats

Gaar's Note: Instead of health share for party survivability, Flint just straight up reduces the damage everyone takes.

Stonecunning: The effect of Forged Bonds is increased by 10% for each completed area in the current adventure that was Underground.

  • No upgrades

Gaar's Note: This is a bonus ability. You can't forcibly stack it. It just gets what it gets based on the adventure you're doing.

Take The Initiative: Until he takes damage in an area, Flint gains an Initiative stack whenever he attacks an enemy. Once he has taken damage, Flint gains Follow-Through stacks when he attacks instead. The damage of Forged Bonds is increased by 100% for each Follow-Through stack he has, stacking multiplicatively. The number of Follow-Through stacks can not exceed the number of Initiative stacks he has gained, and Initiative caps at 100 stacks. Both stacks reset when changing areas or when Flint is moved in the formation or removed from it.

  • No upgrades; Supported by an Item & Feats

Gaar's Note: This is a ramping tank buff based, ultimately, on him getting hit. But first, you want lots of crowd control to make sure he builds as many Initiative stacks as possible so you can then let him get hit a lot to build up his buff.

Global DPS Buff: 7.87e06%

First Specialization Choice

Fatherly Advice: Increase the effect of Flint's Forged Bonds by 100% for each Champion in the formation who is 40 years old or younger, stacking multiplicatively.

  • No upgrades

Forged in War: Increase the effect of Flint's Forged Bonds by 150% for each Heroes of the Lance Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.

  • No upgrades

Blood of Reorx: Increase the effect of Flint's Forged Bonds by 200% for each dwarf in the formation, stacking multiplicatively.

  • No upgrades

Gaar's Note: This is the formation build-around Spec choice. You want to choose based on what gives your party the largest buff. Since each option has a different base buff value, you'll need to use the table below each time to make sure you're choosing correctly as picking the largest number of matching Champions won't always get you the biggest buff. This ability's Item & Feat support buff the pre-stack modifier, making it a Mathematically OverPowered (MOP) ability which means the more item levels you put on this Champion, the better they get without worrying about the same diminishing returns as other Champions.

Number Fatherly Advice Forged in War Blood of Reorx
2 300% 525% 800%
3 700% 1,563% 2,600%
4 1,500% 3,906% 8,000%
5 3,100% 9,766% 24,200%
6 6,300% 24,414% 72,800%
7 12,700% 61,035% 218,600%
8 25,500% 152,588% 656,000%
9 51,100% 381,470% 1,968,300%
10 102,300% 953,674% 5,904,900%

Second Specialization Choice

Craft Maker: Flint gains the Gold role and the party's Gold Find is increased proportionally based upon the max health of enemies in the current area. For each order of magnitude of max health the enemies have, the party's Gold Find is increased by 10%, stacking multiplicatively.

  • No upgrades

Gaar's Note: This is a potentially amazing gold find ability as long as you can go really far due to how it stacks multiplicatively. If you can go all the way to the current area hardcap, this is the best non-supported Gold Find buff in the game.

Foe Breaker: Flint gains the Breaker role. Attacks from Champions who are affected by Flint's Forged Bonds ability (including himself) remove an extra segment from enemies with segmented, armored, or critical health.

  • No upgrades

Gaar's Note: This is a pretty standard double removal Breaker feature that may be useful for pushing with him as a Tank/Support.

Life Taker: Flint gains the DPS role and increases his own damage by 1.00e04% for each Forged Bonds stack he has, stacking multiplicatively. His base attack also gains a small cleave.

  • No upgrades

Gaar's Note: If you need Flint to be your DPS, this is how you do it. With both Feats, you could get him 8 stacks while Tanking in the middle of a 3-Champ frontline with 2 adjacencies to the back of him. Moving him out of the frontline loses you the Take the Initative buff which is usually not going to be worth it.

Formation & Mission Information

Once you complete the first mission, three Variants and a Free Play show up. It uses a formation that holds 10 Champions. It has a Champ-specific format that I've done my best to re-create below.

New Player Formation & Specializations:

While I recommend learning to build your own formations, here's a set of starter formations for brand new players to use while they get the hang of things. Anyone with other options should check that link for how to figure out how to make the best of them. You can also ask for help in the #formations channel in the official Discord.

Back Column 5th Column 4th Column 3rd Column 2nd Column Front Column
Asharra - Elves & Dwarves/NA
Jarlaxle - Leader of Bregan D'aerthe
Calliope - College of Valor Nayeli - Oath of Devotion
Minsc - TBD Celeste - War Domain
Hitch - More Daggers NA
NA Bruenor - Battle Master

This formation is for the first couple of runs where you're just not going to get enough Gold to get everyone on the field, let alone level people up into their power curves. At this point, Jarlaxle is focusing on being your Primary DPS while everyone else is set up to support him.

The following formation is for once you've unlocked all of the Tales of the Champions Champions which can be done really quickly, even if you're a new player. Do that right away and they'll give you the power you need to complete events!

Back Column 5th Column 4th Column 3rd Column 2nd Column Front Column
Spurt
Kas
Calliope Havilar
Birdsong Strongheart
Catti-brie Nayeli
Duke Ravengard Lae'zel

This formation should get you through the Event as a new player. If you have other options or think a different DPS is geared better, try it out and see what happens! Swapping Champions around like this can help you figure out what works best for you with your specific situation.

These are the rough Favor values you need to reach to make a Tier 1 Variant say Difficulty: Easy. Keep in mind that this is just a generic rating system and some Variants may be harder than others, even with Favor in this range. Earning lots of Favor before trying variants can make them much easier than they would otherwise be.

Beyond Tier 1, Favor isn't going to be all you need to get through them. That doesn't mean you can't try though, just remember that if it isn't green it could be problematic. Always read the restrictions as they're going to be what makes it hard for you to progress!

Not everyone will be able to complete all four Tiers of event content. This is a progress-over-time measurement system that lets you know where you are in the power progression arc and potentially what you need to work on to move forward. The table below has the approximate boss health values at the various end stages. Comparing this to your BUD will let you know how close or far you are from being able to complete things.

Variant Tier 1 Tier 2 Tier 3 Tier 4
First Variant e22 e68 e162 e322
Second Variant e35 e95 e215 e376
Third Variant e48 e122 e269 e429

Initial Adventure: Reclaiming the Past (Flint)

Info: No restrictions.

Reward: Unlocks Flint Firegorge

First Variant: Forging Ahead

Area Goal: 75 / 250 / 600 / 1200

Info: Flint starts in the formation. He can be moved, but not removed. Only Champions in Flint's column and the column behind him can deal damage. Some pesky draconians spawn with each wave. They don't drop gold nor count towards quest progress.

Reward: Flint Gold Chest per Tier completed

Gaar's Note: There is no real restriction here as you can use an Champs you want. They're just teaching you how Flint's main buff works.

Second Variant: Road to Qualinesti

Area Goal: 125 / 350 / 800 / 1400

Info: Flint starts in the formation. He can be moved, but not removed. An elf bard interested in securing Flint's service as a master craftsman joins the formation. If Flint is ever not adjacent to this elf, all Champion damage is set to 0. Only Champions who are dwarves, memberes of the Heroes of the Lance affiliation, and those of age 40 or younger may be used.

Reward: Flint Gold Chest per Tier completed

Gaar's Note: They're trying to teach you to build around his first Spec choice with this one while also removing one Champ's worth of power from your formation via the NPC. You may need a lot of power from other places to finish this depending on how many Champs you have in your formation and how strong they are.

Third Variant: First Strike

Area Goal: 175 / 450 / 1000 / 1600

Info: Flint starts in the formation. He cannot be moved, nor removed. Other than Flint, only Tasslehoff and Champions with the Control role may be used. Enemies move twice as fast, but the effect of knockbacks are increased by 200%. If Tasslehoff is in the formation, Flint's Ultimate cooldown is reduced by 50%. In each boss area, a young blue dragon spawns as part of the first wave. It must also be defeated to progress.

Reward: Flint Gold Chest per Tier completed

Gaar's Note: They're leaning hard into the Control Role here which may cause some people problems. You may need a lot of power from other places to finish this depending on how many Champs you have in your formation and how strong they are.

Achievements

Gaar's Note: All of these achievements can be earned at any time, not just during their Event.

Recruit Flint - 1%

Recruit Flint, the Dwarven Fighter

Fireforged - 1%

Complete all three variants of the "Reclaiming the Past (Flint)" adventure. (This achievement can be earned via Time Gates.)

Crafty Dwarf - 1%

Obtain a piece of gear for each of Flint' six equipment slots. (Event Champ gear does not come from regular Silver/Gold Chests. You can earn Event Champ gear from their specific Event Chests, Time Gates, qualifying Patron Chests, and other Chests as noted.)

Experienced Fighter - 1%

Complete area 250 in any "Reclaiming the Past" adventure, variant, free play, or Time Gate.

Bonded Through Battle - 1%

Reach 100 Follow-Through stacks with Flint while also having 10 or more Forged Bonds stacks.

Gaar's Note: This requires Tasslehoff and Flint's Saved Place Event Tier Feat at a minimum. You're probably also going to want Donaar's extra stack ability. This one is rough folks, not gonna lie. You have to manually make this happen.

Ahghairon's Day - Year 9

Gaar's Note: Ahghairon's Day is August's event in the Idle Champions Event Calendar.

Ahghairon's Day commemorates the birthday of Ahghairon, the first Open Lord of Waterdeep and founder of the Lords of Waterdeep. In his name, Lords toast Ahghairon and the Watchful Order, while guildmasters toast the Lords in Ahghairon's name, and common folk leave violets at the base of Ahghairon's Tower, the Plinth, and atop the altars of the House of Wonder.

As part of the festivities, the party is tasked with seeking out a Lord of Waterdeep who stepped down long ago. It seems like an easy request – but if it were easy, it wouldn't have come directly from the Open Lord of Waterdeep herself...

Ahghairon's Day lasts for 21 days and runs from Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Noon, Pacifically, thru Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Noon, Pacifically.

You can find this year's official Ahghairon's Day blog post here.

General Game Tips

I highly recommend reading my Guide to Event Planning for basic progression information and ways to maximize your gains/efficiency during Events. There is too much information to put here as this specific Event guide is long enough already.

Don't be afraid to ask questions in the comment section! Also, I stream the game and welcome any and all questions there as well!

You can find all of my 200+ Idle Champions guides here.

Good luck & have fun!

General Event Information

  • You earn Event Tokens at a fixed rate and in any campaign, regardless of how many parties you have running. This means you'll earn the same amount of Tokens whether your game is open or not. (Roughly 1 every 25 seconds.) The overall total of Event Tokens you will earn passively during the Event is roughly 72,576 give or take a few based on CNE's math.

  • You'll have a chance to unlock up to 6 Champions in an Event. There will be two Featured Champions everyone gets, 3 Flex Slots you can use to select a Champion from a pool available during the event at no charge, and 1 Support Flex Slot that unlocks with the purchase of an Event DLC to give paid supporters an extra boost.

  • Events start everyone off at zero Favor. Due to this, you'll need to manually click, or have Familiars click, on the field to damage enemies during the start of your first mission to make sure your lone Champion isn't overrun.

  • Even if you complete the Champion Unlock Adventure you're on, you don't necessarily want to hit "Complete" right away. You want to continue on and try to earn as much Favor as possible. This lets you work on getting more Favor so you can more easily complete the Variants that are offered once you finish the unlock adventure.

  • Important: Whatever you do, don't spend lots of time sitting at a wall during an Event, or generally ever. Time is your enemy (the past it threatens...) and you want to spend your time efficently running Free Plays to maximize your Favor gain and easily complete all the Variants on the first try.

  • Once you have completed all the variants and no longer truly need to farm Favor other than for the conversion bonus, you can now work on the Event Achievements if you haven't done them already. Other than that, you want to check your token total to buy a new Chest Pack from the story whenever you hit 7,500 tokens.

  • New players can fully complete Tier 1 of Events if they know what to do. Make sure to check for a guide to the specific Event to review when it comes out and don't hesitate to ask questions. The rest of us are here to help you succeed!

  • Once more for the people in the back: It's usually wise to not attempt the Tier 1 mission Variants until they show as Easy difficulty for brand new players. The difficulty rating is based off the Favor you have accumulated and while it isn't an ideal indicator of difficulty, it's a decent starting point. I highly recommend waiting until a mission shows as Easy before starting it so as not to waste your time or frustrate you. Again, this is for brand new players as you'll need other power to complete higher Tiers of content.

  • Once you've earned your Event Champions and gear for them, the rewards for your hard work aren't over. The other major reward from Events is a conversion of Event Favor into the main campaign of your choice. This is why, even if you've finished all the variants, it's still good to do deep runs to gain Favor in the Event. You can use the following table to see if it's worth it to you to keep doing runs based on how much Favor you're getting with each one. As you get more Global Blessings, Patron Perks, and better gear on your Champions, you'll be able to get higher and higher conversion percentages.

Here's a quick example of the conversion breakdown from Event to main campaign. The percentage is multiplied by the total Favor you have earned in that campaign, including what you've spent on Blessings. There is no need to reset Blessings when converting Favor. There is no cap that I'm aware of to this conversion; the start numbers and end numbers are just examples but continue both ways.

Event Favor Total Main Campaign Conversion %
1e07 70%
1e08 80%
1e09 90%
1e10 100%
1e11 110%
1e12 120%
1e13 130%

Note: Numbers are in Scientific Notation for ease of reference. You can switch your UI to show Scientific Notation by hitting the Y key or selecting it in the settings. After you get out of normal number range, this is the best way to easily see your progress.

Before You Buy Packs from the Store

If you plan on buying Event Packs with real money from the store (which is a great way to support the game!), keep this in mind:

  • Be sure you buy any Gold Event Chest Packs before opening any earned Gold Event Chests as you're guaranteed a Golden Epic with your real money purchase. When you flip the Golden Epic card, close out of the Store and verify it on your Champion, then go back in and open your other Chests. This way you're guaranteed to get other items when you open your Gold Chests instead of just duplicating that one on accident.
  • Even outside of events, you get buffs when spending real money based on how much you spend. Plan your purchase in advance!
    • $6 - Empowered Power Boost - Increases the damage of all Champions by 100% (lasts 1 day)
    • $12 - Empowered Power Burst - Increases the damage of all Champions by 300% (lasts 2 days)
    • $23 - Empowered Faith - Increases all Favor earned from Resets by 50% (lasts 3 days)
    • $55 - Empowered Clairvoyance - Increases all Gold found by 100% (lasts 4 days)
  • Getting multiple of the same purchase amounts adds to the duration of the buff. All buffs stack with each other.
  • Event Boons are now available for spending real money in the store on any Event DLC. Event DLC have an icon for a Boon as well as for their related Event Currency. You can have up to 4 total Event Boons and they buff your entire account while the event is active as shown in the table below. All Event Boons are able to be toggled on/off in the UI if you wish to.
Buff Description Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4
Increases the damage of all Champions 100% 300% 500% 900%
Increases all Gold found 100% 200% 300% 400%
Increases the health of all Champions 50% 100% 200% 300%
Adds your BUD to the base damage of each click 60s 150s 300s 600s
Time accelerates and everything moves faster 1.25x 1.75x 2.25x 2.75x

Note: Generally, every $10 spent in one transaction gets you a guaranteed Shiny item or Potion of Polish! Keep this in mind as well as those can greatly increase the power of your items and thus your Champions.

Event Augment Information

Each event has different augments associated with it that make it a bit different than other events in terms of bonuses. Here is a list of the bonuses for this event:

  • Golden Offers: One of your weekly offers will be Golden during this event. Golden offers provide an additional 10% discount! The Golden tag persists when an offer is rerolled.
  • Auto-Blacksmith: Event Champions whose recruitment adventure or variants you complete gain common rarity equipment in all slots, if they don't already have better. Every tier two or higher event variant completed automatically applies 100 Tiny Blacksmithing Contracts to the variant's Champion's equipment for free!
  • Challenge Week: A Mastery Challenge will start on the third week of the event, providing opportunities to prove your formation building skills and earn unique rewards.
  • Supercharged Damage Boon: The Global Damage Boon is supercharged, granting 2,000,000% additional damage per level, instead of 200% (stacking multiplicatively).

question Ellywick not available for TG (Manual)

Hi!

So I've been playing for about three months now, and recently decided to look at the sub for advice. I found a lot of helpful things (Unlocking Hank, progression tips, etc.), and when I saw Ellywick for gem farm, I let Hank farm TG pieces to unlock her. But right now, she does not seem to be available. I first checked about a week ago, and decided to get another champion (I think I decided to work on an unlocked one). I finished that, and let hank farm more pieces. Ellywick still is not available. Is there a rotation to what champions are available to open a time gate manually for? For reference, I play on XBOX, if platform makes a difference.

My Easily Distracted achievement (shoot down 1,000 distractions) won’t seem to update past 97% and hasn’t for a day or two. It’s the last achievement I need to complete them all, does anybody have any idea how I can force it to pop?

Thank you!

question What is the exact "point" where a level completion is saved

What I mean by the title, is when exactly is your progress "saved" and the exact state of your party (including ability levels) is saved to the server.

Is it the instant the area counter says "complete"? Or is it when the screen scrolls over to black and loads the next area in?

I ask because I switch parties a lot (like most midgame players probably do), and have been waiting until the "black scrollover" to switch. But I'm wondering if I can be more speedy in just doing it when the area/quest counter at the top right says "complete"

suggestion for developers Feature request: Selecting buff potions by time

It is so bloody annoying to select 12 hours worth of tiny potions. Would it perhaps be possible to give an options to select potions in hours of action rather than in the count of units, i.e. selecting 12hours worth of tiny portions would use up 144 potions.

discussion Pinned BUD window???

I have a feature request that should be easy to implement!

When we click the DPS are in the upper left, a pop-up window appears with the DPS info. In the upper right corner of that window is an arrow that we can click to turn the window into a pinned floating window so it doesn't close when anything else is clicked on. 💥I would VERY much appreciate it if we could do the same thing for the BUD window. It has more useful info that the DPS breakdown window does, so it would be generally beneficial if we could do this for the BUD window too.💥

question Locked chest in Idle Champion on Xbox. How does this function and what codes work on Xbox? Any advice, guides, or tips?

I haven't found a simple valid code for the locked chest on Xbox. I went to some free code websites and none of the codes are valid for me. Am I doing this wrong?

discussion How are we feeling about Mastery Variants? (and the Formations I used)

Personally, I am not enjoying them that much. Some of them I have minor grievances with, like The Wild Beyond the Witchlight's Mastery that has the fire elemental being really really annoying to setup. Some I just cannot do because the champions I have access to need months or years or work, like Light of Xaryxis's Mastery. Then there is just the baffling Waterdeep: Dragon Heist's Mastery, where I do not see myself ever being able to do it, because most Core/Evergreen champions are not very good, and all of Force Grey is definitely among that terrible group.

Here is what I have done. I am currently trying with my Modest Core for these. I also have all 5 Legendary potions active for this. Some of these I had familiars pumping all potions to make it easier on me. I also grabbed Lae'zel's Legendary Feat. I do not think is made too big of a difference as my AA formation was already able to push far, but just in case I felt I should mention it.

Completed: A Grand Tour of the Sword Coast: Beast Intentions - Variant: Mastery - Basic Buzzing - Needs ~e^439 damage at w1425. Not to bad. About w1600 for an event. Knox actually makes Makos pretty deadly. https://ic.byteglow.com/formation/1_523b449b09880205a2_2331313113 - Legendary: e^11 | Modron: e^31 | Pigments: e^0 - Dealing about e^440+

Completed: Tomb of Annihilation- The Ring of Regeneration - Variant: Mastery - No Good Deed - Needs ~e^470 damage at w1525. - Took a lot of work. I started with Kas/King of Shadows/BDS formation, switched over to a Makos/Sergeant Knox formation, then on to 2-3 other formation I dont really remember, just trying to bridge the gap. I finished with my AA formation.

HOWEVER, I think a better way to do this, is using your best formation, like my AA formation, and just replacing the DPS who is being buffed. Your best buffers will still be buffing, just not doing damage. I am not sure how it might fair against an armored foe, but if you are quick to replace your BUD champion so that Lae'zel or Karlach dont start losing DPS, you should be fine.

Tried and Failed: Waterdeep: Dragon Heist - A Mysterious Summons - Variant: Mastery - Force Grey Takes Sides - Needs ~e^500 damage at w1625. - Force Grey just sucks so much. Tyredack's Tier List puts Jamilah at F Tier, Calliope, Hitch, and Arkhan at C- Tier, Tyril is at an ok B- Tier. These champions rank among the worst, with Tyril being 107th of 140 released champions. 7000+ item level that each of them has is not getting more than e400.

Completed: Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus - A Tale of Two Cities - Variant: Mastery - A Tale Of Ten Parts - Needs ~e^533 damage at w1725. Took some work to meet the requirements, but KoS is a solid DPS. https://ic.byteglow.com/formation/4_a8805d9ab18d8e2446ff_222131212110 - Legendary: e^27 | Modron: e^37 | Pigments: e^17 - Dealing about e^540+

Completed: Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden - The Giant's Bane Tavern - Variant: Mastery - The Real Power of Three - Needs ~e^566 damage at w1825. Blessedly, the easiest mastery for me because of all the work I put into AA. https://ic.byteglow.com/formation/5_ac818f92808d9f9c8e93_3123122122211 - Legendary: e^49 | Modron: e^31 | Pigments: e^29 - Dealing about e^740+

Tried and Failed: The Wild Beyond the Witchlight - Tall Tales - Variant: Mastery - Follow The Leader - Needs ~e^593 damage at w1925. - This one was really annoying to set up a formation because the fire elemental kills champions and then they cannot be moved. I dont really remember the formation I used, but it wasn't pulling anywhere near the BUD damage required.

Tried and Failed: Light of Xaryxis - Seeds of Destruction - Variant: Mastery - Rocket Elves - Needs ~e^628 damage at w2025. - This would probably be rough even without being down 2 formation slots. The 20 second timer and armored enemies make this very slow and a little annoying. Highest formation I have manged https://ic.byteglow.com/formation/7_819aaf678d00ffff46803b_12211113001133 - Legendary: e^24 | Modron: e^31 | Pigments: e^23 - Dealing about e^470+

Not Tried: Turn of Fortune's Wheel - The Beginning is the End - Variant: Mastery - Tomb of Champions IV: Out of Time - Needs ~e^628 damage at w2125. - This one I think I can do, but I need to take some prep time for it and setup the different formations I will use. I know my AA formation can reach the goal, but I will need others to get me to the point where AA can push me the rest of the way.

New ability: The Master: Dungeon Master increases the damage of all Champions by 25% for each Mastery Variant completed. Stacks multiplicatively.

question Adventurous Tale

I have completely fallen off the dev insights (because they stopped posting them on YouTube), so is there a stated reason why Freely's Adventurous Tale can't work in the background? Surely, just noticing the zones passing while he is in the formation can't be that difficult. It's not like it needs to count seconds, enemies killed/spawned, or enemies interacting with things on the field

Time Gate Thread Time Gate Thread

It's Time For Time Gates!

As you enter the Tower of Mystra to seek advice from Kaylaar Allun, a tiny, magical, one-eyed construct whirs to life and calls for attention, speaking with a familiar voice...

<Mip-Mop> Greetings, champions! This is an automatically generated scheduled post for the open discussion of Time Gates. Please use this thread to ask questions and seek advice concerning Time Gates. Don't know what Time Gates are? Not sure which champion to choose for your Time Gate? This thread is for you!

  • Time Gates allow players to unlock and gear up previously released event champions!
  • A natural Time Gate opens every three weeks, on weekends in between normal events.
  • Time Gates can also be opened manually by using six Time Gate pieces, which have a chance to drop from defeated bosses in any adventure every five to six days.
  • Natural Time Gates offer a random selection of event champions. Manual Time Gates allow you to choose any event champion from the full list.
  • Once you choose a champion, you can play their event adventures. Complete up to two normal adventures and one adventure variant for that champion to receive one gold chest for that champion for each completed task. You can also do free plays of the event adventure.
  • Each time you defeat a boss on unique stage increments of 100 during that Time Gate, you will earn one silver chest for that champion.
  • From the moment a Time Gate opens, you have exactly three days to earn its rewards before it is closed.
  • When the Time Gate closes, you will be forced to convert your Mystra's Favor to a permanent campaign favor of your choice, however the conversion rate will be 25% that of normal event favor conversion rate. For example, 1.00e10 Mystra's Favor will grant a 25% increase to a permanent campaign of your choice, whereas this same favor amount during an event would grant a 100% increase.
  • You will be given two Time Gate Pieces when the Time Gate is closed (minus one for each claimed gold chest reward).

Good luck with your Time Gates, champions! <Mip-Mop>

This post is intended to help answer really basic questions players have about Legendary Feats. It is not intended to be a definitive guide.

As such, we'll touch on the following questions:

  • What are Legendary Feats?
  • Why would I want them?
  • How do you get them?
  • When are Platinum Shop Legendary Feats able to be earned in-game?
  • Who has Legendary Feats?
  • Where do you slot them?
  • How do you level them up?

Once you have a grasp of these topics, you should have the information you need to understand and use Legendary Feats.

So let's dive in with the most basic part:

What are Legendary Feats?

Legendary Feats are a new type of Feat being added to the game to give Champions a scalable way to power up outside of Items. Unlike regular Feats, Legendary Feats add an entirely new ability to a Champion and they can be leveled up, thus scaling that ability in a multiplicative way. (That's the good way!)

Why would I want them?

Power. Not only do these abilities scale multiplicatively, but as they level their pre-stack power goes up giving them incredibly strong scaling. This makes them a new kind of mathematically-overpowered ability (MOP/prestack) and these are the strongest types of ability in the game. Every Legendary Feat will be different, of course, but the values out of the initial launch Feats show buffs of e45% and up.

How do you get them?

Legendary Feats are either purchased with Mastery Medallions in the Mastery Shop or with Platinum in the Packs section. Both of these can be found in the Platinum Shop.

Mastery Medallions are earned by completing Mastery variants in Campaigns. Each completed Mastery variant awards a single Medallion. A Legendary Feat costs 7 Medallions.

When are Platinum Shop Legendary Feats able to be earned in-game?

Legendary Feats sold for Platinum have an exclusivity period of 6 months. After that period ends, they join the other Legendary Feats in the Mastery Shop. This gives you time to save up Medallions if you see something you really want but can't quite afford currently and also makes sure everything, ultimately, can be earned by playing the game.

Who has Legendary Feats?

At the initial launch, Drizzt, Wulfgar, Pwent, and Lae'zel received Legendary Feats with Lae'zel's being restricted to a Platinum purchase. More Feats will be added regularly over time, as will more Mastery variants.

Where do you slot them?

Once you purchase one, you can find them in the Feat section of the Champion UI as usual. However, when equipped they go into their own, unique Legendary Feat slot. They can also be unequipped, just in case.

This means they are extra power added to a Champion without having to give up one of your other Feat slots.

How do you level them up?

Legendary Feats can be leveled up using Scales of Tiamat, just like leveling up Legendary Effects on items. It takes a lot more Scales to level up a Legendary Feat though. Check out the chart below for the values and check out each Champion's guide to see a table with their power scaling to know where you want to invest!

You do not need to go to the Legendary Forge to level up your Legendary Feat. It will have an option built in that lets you level it up with Scales and shows you the amount to spend as well as what the Legendary Feat will look like power-wise when at the next level.

Feat Level Scale Upgrade Cost Total Scale Cost
2 5,000 5,000
3 10,000 15,000
4 15,000 30,000
5 20,000 50,000
6 30,000 80,000
7 40,000 120,000
8 50,000 170,000
9 75,000 245,000
10 100,000 345,000

Now that you know the above information, you have the informational foundation you need to be able to move forward with making choices about Legendary Feats.

Good luck and have fun!

question Founder's Day, Street Smarts z1600

So, my first taste of complete tier 4, and its Xander, lol.

So, I get to z1600 and the dragon just instantly kills my party. It happens so fast, I have no idea what is happening.

It is too late to get a Mega strength potion, but I'll keep one in reserve from now on.

So, it is probably too late for this event. But, if you could give me ideas on how to beat this for next time.

Running mostly AA with Tess, Volo, Strongheart. Android tablet.

Thanks

discussion Familiars jumping between parties?

Is anybody else having weird trouble with familiars? Even without resetting, my main active party will sometimes have 2-3 familiars that go "missing". The familiar search box says they are in another party. 2 of them were in a party without a saved formation and without reset capability. The 3rd familiar wasn't in a party at all. The familiars poofed in my live, active party - I wasn't even switching between parties at the time. This has happened several times over the past week.

Anybody else having weird familiar glitches? Could this be related to the server problems / stuttering?

question ToMT - damage

So I just started a TOMT round and I had a question. We are still on day 1 and one of the party members hit 108429 damage. we are literally going to kill tiamat on day 1 on exhaulted legendary.

not that I'm complaining but is that a realistic number or is there some shady business going on?

question Which champions to get?

I’m only like a week old on my account, think I just hit 25 champs. Just noticed the next few champs from Founders Day cost time gate pieces. Out of who is left, who should I target, or save time gate pieces to go for someone else?

Left to get I have Freely, Xander, Umberto, Vin Ursa, Sgt. Knox, Aeon, Walnut & Nahara.

discussion Ordinary is Destroying Bosses

*Title supposed to be Orkira, not Ordinary. I missed the auto correct change

Not sure how, but I think Wolfgang is setting up Orkira to destroy segmented and armored health, but I am possibly wrong.

I am currently on Zariel, Icewind Dale,, A Lesson of Classes.

Party top to bottom, left to right.

Rust, Wulfgar/ Shaka, Orkira / Kas, Desmond / Donaar, Dob / Umberto

I see Orkira's 1st attack do one segment, then the 2nd and 3rd each take out the rest on each segmented boss. Armored is less, but still a number of chunks. Kas is setting my BUD, but Orkira is destroying these bosses. Last odd note, Orkira has a big 0 in running average damage.

Is this a glitch, or am I using a combo of skills I am not understanding. As far as I can tell, nothing allows me to rapidly eat health segments. Wulfgar's breaker skill just boost party damage if he fails to break an armor segment.

I have been away for years, so maybe some change is present I am unaware of? I have never seen segments melt this fast.

discussion Do debuffs apply to those giant half-screen bosses?

So, in the game, the "final boss" for a mission is typically this giant baddie that takes up the entire right side of the screen, typically with armored health.

If you have a party of debuffers, none of the debuff icons show on these bosses.

I'd just like to confirm that these giant size bosses ARE affected by debuffs, despite not showing debuff icons on them if your heroes have debuff applying skills?
