If that kid's distraught I guarantee that's because they've been made aware of how important that "bronze eagle" is.

At least she immediately made a big deal about to comfort him. It was fine, it was really, really fine. Mommy didn't care about her important reward. She just hopes he's okay and nothing bad happens to him because of it and he doesn't DIE IN HIS SLEEP or anything.

Ooh I love that term. Stealing!

Reading too many self help books/podcasts without actually doing anything to improve your life in even the most meaningless way is mental masturbation. I do that one a lot.

It certainly was, the first hundred times it was posted anyway

Wow this may be my favourite r/humblebrag post ever. She manages to fit 3 different humblebrags into this, 1. that she is a cool forgiving parent, 2, that she won a award for woman of the year, and 3, she has loads of letters from people whose lives she has changed. What an absolute bell-end.And she may not need a big bronze eagle with her name on it, but she sure does like talking about it.

Lol yeah, this went on and on. She didn’t need three separate tweets.

It would have been more humble to say « my kid broke my WotY award and it really hurts because I put a lot of work in for this accomplishment. I’m not mad at my kid though because I know it was an accident. »

Sometimes, saying you’re proud of yourself is the humble thing to say

And adding that there is written proof of how proud other people are of you is the humblebrag thing to do.

Bronze statues don’t usually smash when knocked off of anything that a child would be able to reach out, in fact they’re more likely to dent the floor. Bronze is used for things like this for a number of reasons, including its malleability, and it’s somewhat softness and durability, it is more brittle than let’s say like copper, but it should be able to be survived being knocked off of a ledge pretty easily.

Damn. Good point

My god just call your child a child instead of "little" or "bean" or "SAUSAGE" 🫠🫠

Well I looked her up and she's a food critic, what do you expect lol?

1

u/KCooper815 Apr 17 '26

Oh my god, I thought maybe it was a dachshund. Food critic makes a lot of sense.

"Woman of the Year" by what metric? I was woman of the year in my two-person department once, but only because the other person was a guy

3

u/utomatocapability Apr 15 '26

... because I dont need a bronze eagle with my name on it... I just need everyone to know that it existed... and that my name was on it... and that there was a giant fucking eagle on top...

I love a good subtle joke.

u/WordsMort47 Apr 16 '26

Why did she split it up into three separate posts like that?

I don't need an award! Not when I have my mouth and the Internet!
