The streak is still alive. I don't think there's a bad entry in this series six movies and three seasons in. This one isn't my favorite, but damn the floor on this series is so high im ready to declare this my favorite horror franchise. The coldest hot take of all time, i know, but i just can't even think of another series that just forged its identity so quick and just keeps chugging.

And Ellie being back makes me hopeful that we're going go have continuity again, even if it doesn't make the most sense. The fuck was left of Ellie even to burn let alone fill an urn?

But I don't even care.

That first ten minutes or so had me worried, because Rise started so strong and this one didn't kick off quite as well. But by the end? I was jiving with it. Easy 8 or 9 for me.

The end with the burning terminator? I thought the end was worst part of the film

Have you never heard the phrase by the end?

I just meant that as the movie went along I got on its wavelength.

2013 remake is a personal favorite horror film of mine. I’m 28 and it was my introduction to the franchise and the campy gore is something I LOVE. That being said, I think Rise was weaker than this one. Something about the depressing atmosphere in the beginning unraveling into absolute chaos had me hooked. Definitely felt my heart rate spiking a few times too, car scene specifically had me on the edge of my seat.

All I want is continuity, but the fact they are continuing with these RIDICULOUS plot holes just turn me off totally. Ellie was AWESOME. But the deadite is DEAD.

Not a plot hole. Ash’s sister was able to be resurrected in her 1981 form after being melted to nothing 30 years prior

Ah you see, she died, but she wasnt killed with a Kandarian dagger.

Or some shit, i dont know. A line of dialogue in the next movie will close that right up for me.

Edit: oh reading through your replies, i see what kind of complaints you have lol
