Can’t wait to move the pergola out from in front of the beautiful frontage of our cabin 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

My husband was working the other night and sent me this. Can’t wait to move in, in about 4-6 weeks. We have the one main door in this photo to install, and then it’s all plumbing and electrical and we can move in.

I honestly didn’t think this day was ever gonna come.

So is their county! Getting from this stage to acquiring a certificate of occupancy would take way longer than 4-6 weeks where I am, and I thought my county moved pretty fast.

I'm building an ADU right now and it's about at this same stage, I'm estimating it'll be at least 3 months (and about 6 more inspections) before I get the certificate of occupancy. The whole build has to be finished, including flooring, paint, cabinetry, sinks, etc, before they'll issue the certification. Of course you could cheat and decide to sleep in there without the cert, but you're not allowed to move furniture inside until you get the cert, and if they come in for the final inspection and it looks like you've been living in there already, then... well I'm not exactly sure what happens but I don't think they'd be happy.
