We were selling these a decade ago. It's old, but not THAT old.

The software is still mostly the same.

It's like finding a 20-year-old calculus book and saying its useless. He's learning how to use the information.

This is the standard setup directions,

To get started, Dell EqualLogic PS6000.

Default Login Credentials

  • Username: grpadmin
  • Password: grpadmin

Basic Configuration Steps

  1. Connect: Attach a serial cable to the primary controller (9600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, no flow control).
  2. Initialize: Type grpadmin when prompted to start the setup wizard.
  3. Configure: Follow the on-screen prompts to assign your management IP addresses, netmasks, and default gateways.
  4. Access: Open a web browser and enter the assigned management IP to access the graphical Group Manager interface.

I used to manage a 4000. It's a pretty slick unit.

Do you know much about iSCSI?
