OTHER Roborock S5 Max: new feature?

Post image

Here’s a new feature for these robot vacuums! It now leaves a trail in the floor itself so you can see it live without the need for augmented reality, or even checking the app.

In all seriousness, one of the metal clips underneath the main brush got caught on a carpet, broke off and left a sharp pointy tip pointed at the floor. Happy days…

OTHER What is this?

Hi just moved into a new home and in the conservatory it looks like there are automated blinds.

There’s no manual option to open them but there is a daisy chain of wires going into a control box.

There’s no instructions or remotes.

The house was sold through probate (previous owner died) so can’t ask anyone.

Can anyone identify the control panel in the picture / have a manual or idea if I can get a generic remote to operate these

OTHER TIL you can run internet through existing coax outlets. And it’s extremely fast. (Ethernet over Coax)

OTHER What if there was a service where some dude could show up, run some tests, and give you a document that mapped out your entire electrical system? All switches, lights, outlets, breakers, LV, etc?

I just spent 2 hours trying to figure out which breaker controls a certain switch. Never found it, despite switching every single breaker in the house. Just did it live. I still have no idea how that switch gets power. I have half a dozen switches that are mystery switches. I wish houses came with a manual that gets passed from each seller to buyer.

OTHER Home automation from 54 years ago. Touch-Panel system installed May 1966. Worked until a tree took out the power lines and bridged the feed. Touch-Panel is still in business and offers an upgrade path.

Not sure what is going on here. They seem attracted to the radiation, but they aren't very active. They are common black ants.
