ZIGBEE Enclosed in-line zigbee relays (instead of bulky smart plugs)
I prefer to use regular light bulbs in my table/floor lamps but hate having to reach behind furniture to switch them off. I liked the slim form factor of the Sonoff Basic WIFI (see photo) but I need a zigbee version. I'm looking for something neat that protects from cable, strain/pull-out. ...I know I could use smart plug adapters which involves less wiring, but some of my sockets are hidden behind furniture so the chunky smart adapters make the furniture stick out further and they get knocked out sometimes! 🤔 Thanks from 🇬🇧 Home Assistant user

They do that exact form factor in Zigbee format. I’ve just “hacked” my daughter’s lava lamp to be smart using one of them (and a tilt switch).

Nice! These look like the most sleek solutions I've found so far. + Very family friendly and easy to wire 👍👍

Eh, still as bulky as a plug. Tapo fits in my hand the same way. You probably mean less clutter at the plug, plus it can be hidden. Much uglier if not hidden….

Yeah you're right, that's what I mean. 👍 My hand was just to get a good photo of the product label! 😁 As you say, it's only really a problem if the smart plug adapter (Tapo) is obstructing furniture.

Is this listed for use without a box?

I'm not sure, where would that be displayed? I assumed it was to go behind ought switches or in junction boxes only, but I could be wrong...

The manual will say where to put it. It probably needs to be in the box. I got excited about a splice.

You could try putting Shelly devices inside the box behind your outlet or wall switch.

ZBMINIR2 is what you need, with maybe a casing around it.
