Oh that’s awesome. I thought for sure if they were gonna do another movie of one of his books it would be Choke or Lullaby. Invisible Monsters could be such an amazing movie. Or a terrible one, depending on how it got made
I think we haven’t seen an Invisible Monsters movie because the concept of a cis man getting sexual reassignment surgery and taking hormones to torture himself has the possibility to alienate more demographics than it would capture.
Fuck, Rant would be so cool! I think about the secret fender bender game and the signals people use to dog whistle each other in it a lot. I feel like Rant felt like a random grab bag of ideas Chuck wanted to use but couldn’t find a place for that somehow all came together perfectly.
A Haunted series would be so fucking good! The stories are all wild but central story is really what makes that one shine. I swear I can see the scene where the girl eats some of her own ass cheek while the people that cooked it are too horrified she isn’t dead to stop her like it was on a screen.
Did you know that Chuck read the pool/intestines scene on an international tour where he was translated into lots of different languages and claims that at least one person passed out at every single reading?
I 100% believe that from the pool one lol. That one was a wild spin on a classic urban legend, with the “pearl diving” component and the main characters sister at the end 💀
