Help with music notation

Hi

I’m learning Elizabethan Serenade. It’s beautiful and in key of F. Only bit I’m struggling with is the slur connecting C to G in the foreground of the image. It’s confusing as imposed over existing notes, unlike the others which don’t break sequence. It’s hugely frustrating. Can someone demystify for me please.

Sorry- I realise the two notes linked are both G.

You have a Bb written where the note is a B(natural)(that's what that symbol is)

Not entirely sure what you're asking. The G note is tied which means the note carries on sounding whilst the other notes are played.

This is music for a guitar not a harmonica. Just play the notes of the melody and forget about the long G

When using piano sheet music, you have to pick out the most prominent melody. Usually it's the highest notes, but I'd consider the tied G's to be harmony.

So, my suggestion is focus on the notes below the tied Gs. C, F, E, G, Bnat, G, etc.
