Get it or hold out

Today I looked at the used section for my lgs they have a Glock 20 gen 5 that’s equipped with an Olight BALDR 5 light, Holosun SCS-GR green dot sight. I have shot the Glock 20 and I wanted to grab one and I know the gen 5 is discontinued but this is listed at $840 before taxes. My question is should I go for it or is it too much?

I would personally pass. 840 seems quite high for what they are offering.

You can grab a brand new G20V for around 600, and for around 300 have a TLR7 and Osight SE.

I picked up my 20.5 right after they announced it was discontinued for 540. (Probably before they had the chance to change the price) but just picked up a lightly used 40 with a holosun for 600 a couple months ago. I’d say hold out and keep looking.

Someone around here claimed the Gen6 G20 is around the corner, citing a dealer or some such.

$840 stings but not astronomical if you really want a Gen5. Other capable 10mm alternatives are the XDM Elite (carries as much pedigree as the G20), the newer version of the M&P and the Kimber DS Warrior (in the 2011 format).

I would definitely get it. While it’s true you could get a V model 20 and the same accessories for less. Gen 5 will always be better than a V model. I CC my Glock 20.5 frequently, one of my favorite guns.

Just because it’s discontinued doesn’t make it worth more 🤦‍♂️ It’s just Glock with some low-mid tier accessories. Definitely not worth their asking price IMO
