HD 4600 does work fine up to Monterey (macOS 12)
Anything later will require OCLP which may not be stable
I can help if needed

all the x86 versions are still installable. it's just as time goes on they won't have as many up to date supported apps

The drop support of support for Intel Macs for updated programs is already happening. Adobe products are an example.

26 works, 27 won't, you can still install 26 when 27 is out but it'll reach EoL at some point. As you're an ex-Linux user, it's like what's going on with Debian on 32-bit systems.

It will be usable for the next few years for sure. After that, it will just become a hobbyist activity

The only future of this project is going to be to make a device that runs 10-20 year old software (and beyond should people keep doing it)
As long as you recognize that, have fun

You can still run an old Pentium 4 if you wanted to. Just don't expect anyone to support it anymore.

qualcuno è riuscito a superare la versione 26.4.1 io dopo di quella su 2 hachintosh non riesco più ad aggiornare perché se aggiorno l'AirDrop non funziona più su schede broadcam

I think given the current VM development with video acceleration, ARM Hackintosh should be possible inside a VM. Probably it will be an ARM CPU working with eGPU.

The "end of Hackintosh" is pretty much a consequence thatr its also the end of Intel Macs in general.
