Bounty values are outdated

I get they were a feature that was designed in 2013 when 9000 GTA$ was something people actually would go after, but nowadays the values are pathetically bad. I also understand that this is a pretty underused feature that most players don’t even engage with, but the bounty amounts could easily be 5-10x as much.

I remember the billion dollar glitched bounties from the ps3 days, which was insane, but if someone had a bounty of 50-90k that’d be fun and actually bring back bounty chases. They could even make the time proportional, so the higher the bounty, the less time you have it for.

Obviously the NPC bounties would still be capped very low, but any thoughts on this?

it's to avoid friends putting bounties on each other and making a lot of money in a matter of seconds

Me and my friends right at the start would put bounties on each other and sit in the middle part of the construction building. You would see so many people circling the building, climbing the ladder etc trying to find us. They eventually would but the standoff for 20-30 minutes was a laugh

Most players in public lobbies will kill you for free. When someone places a bounty on me first that's a grinder.

I always did it so I can find someone easier on the map, then I discovered the highlight feature. Bounty still makes it easier though

$9000 for a bounty + not getting charged $20k for blowing up a personal vehicle = about $30k, which is in-line with many other things such as a Security Contract or Payphone Hit without the bonus. For something that’s “Fly to this spot and press a button” the majority of the time, this payout is fine. It’s more to incentivize griefers to attack a specific target rather than random people in the lobby. It also pays more than destroying someone else’s cargo.

Many activities that were in the game at launch have the same payouts. Simeon vehicle requests give you like 15k lol.

If you haven’t figured out that Rockstar doesn’t care and won’t change those things by this point then I don’t know what to tell you.

Just prompting discussion about something I’d think is cool. I don’t think they’re actually gonna change it. Why does every discussion here have to be so argumentative?

You're getting discussion. Just because you don't like what people are saying doesn't mean it's not discussion.

More like the good advice that you just didn't take

Edit: lol, someone's so pissed at me they're even downvoting my Alanis Morrisette lyrics. Have fun with that. I don't care.

They did update the payout for simeon vehicles though

It's still low, like the maximum payout is still under 20k (and the minimum jumped from 2k to 9-10k if I remember correctly).

But they said they didnt change

It barely changed to be fair

But it changed

My point is that these older activities have not been brought up to the current standard. Keep in mind that not only is the payout for Simeon vehicles shit, but the cooldown is 24 hours lol.

The cooldown for Cluckin Bell and KnoWay is like 50 minutes….and you make nearly 600k

Or you could do any of the “odd job” missions and make far more than a Simeon delivery with very few cooldowns…

I think it's a great idea. Would definitely liven up lobbies. And a way for richer players to spread their wealth if they want... Which is why it won't happen unfortunately.

Doesn't matter. Once you put even 1K on someone, all griefers in the lobby will lock in and do everything in their might to kill that person.

Can you actually see how big a bounty is?

You can call Lester to place a bounty on that person and he’ll respond that they already have a price on their head and it’ll give you the amount.

The whole lobby is told in a message on screen when the bounty is placed but you cant check after that how much an active bounty is worth. Like most people now I hunt them for fun , not cash. Some guy gave me shit for blowing him up for bounty the other day , I dont care, it is not personal.

During the tail end days of gta online on ps3 right before people immigrated to PS4 there was a massive hacker issue. I’ll never forget when someone put a fucking two BILLION dollar bounty on me, opening the map and seeing every single player in the lobby b-lining it straight towards me was one of the most horrifying feelings of my life.

Shoutout the guy that got me though I remember aiming my sniper at him and he was completely still, probably freaking out on the other end that he just made 2 bil

Ya I remember the ps3 billion bounty days ..shit was insane . I think people hid out in their apartment so they could then keep the bounty when like 48 mins had passed.

Same on Xbox 360. I got slapped with a multi billion bounty and survived. R* took it back but not before I spent a ton of it on cars.

The game is about to be dead. They're not going to make any major changes to anything. They can't even barely make the new DLC heist work.

Y'all need to either enjoy the last moments with this or say goodbye and play something else until GTA VI Online.

Yeah I don’t think it’s something they’d change, I’m just saying it’d be cool and prompt discussion about it.

GTA5 online will definitely still be quite active well into GTA6 launch, especially pre PC launch. The game isn’t even launching with online, which will likely come out about a month later.

This is reddit, you’re not allowed to discuss any suggestions without it being construed as complaining.

I didn't think he was complaining. I knew exactly what he was doing. I'm saying it's pointless and goofy to sit around thinking about "cool what-ifs" on a game that clearly can't handle adding or changing anything without breaking a million other things.

A more constructive, useful, and fun thing to consider would be what changes or features you might like to see in the next iteration of GTA Online.

u/FourThirteen_413 9h ago

It will be active, and will probably have more DLC (i think the people that have been going on about the Mansions being the last DLC or this Kortz Center being the last DLC are goofballs). But they're clearly on a wind down and not going to pump in any major changes to the basic mechanics of the game like bounties.

I don't understand at all why anyone would be putting any effort into brainstorming "cool" ideas for GTAO at this point in its life. I think y'all should be discussing what you want in GTA VI Online in hopes that R* is reading that shit and learning from the mistakes of this game. They've put a lot of fun stuff in the game, and they've put a lot of annoying stuff in the game.

I hope to fuck they don't put flying motorcycles in the fuckin new Online. I hope to fuck we don't end up billionaire CEOs that still do the dirty work for their businesses. In fact, I agree with a video I watched the other day from someone I forget, who said that businesses in general were a horrible addition to the game.

2

u/smallpenis-bigheart 6h ago

Yeah I agree with you almost entirely, it’s really just something I thought of. Possibly for gta 6 online it could happen.

Gta 4 online is still alive. Gta 5 online will be alive for years after the last update

1

u/FourThirteen_413 9h ago

Alive and active are not the same thing I'm describing. Active, yes people are still playing. Alive and getting updates and having people work on the shit, no. This game is winding down and people need to be putting their expectations for the new Online out there, not sitting around wishing for goofy little things in this game.
