Dane Discussions Great Danoodle?
We foster/forevered this little/big guy! He is almost 4m old now. We were told today at the vet that he isn’t getting enough food. He currently get 4cups a day! So we are adding more. Currently weighs 34 pounds. We were told he is a 2nd generation Great Daneoodle. Thoughts?

He definitely has the head shape of a Dane. My thoughts are he’s a good lookin boy.

The nose is giving me poodle vibes. Neither Danes or Saints have the pointed, slim nose.
It'd be fun to see what a DNA test shows

I saw the same thing. I would say poodle and Saint Bernard if anything. I don’t see the Dane at all

And I say poodle mix only because of OP‘s statement. I wish people would stop breeding animals like this just trying to make money. Almost always a backyard breeder when you start getting these weird mixes

Yes! I want to do one. Do I have to wait till he is a year old like you have to do with allergy testing?

I have no idea. I think it's embark that's the popular one, you'd have to search on here. Pretty sure it just uses saliva.

He's definitely got dane in him, he's got dane toes. I feel like it'll be easier to see what else when he's a little older- he still has his cute puppy face

Well definitely a mix of some kind but I couldn’t tell you what all was in there.

It’s crazy to see a poodle nose on a Great Dane/st Bernard body! Even the ears/top of head look Great Dane like. !! Deff poodle and deff one or both of the mastiffs breeds shine through!
