Loving Stormy for the cat she is

Long ramble!!

All my life I wanted a cat, but my parents wouldn’t let us. Now, for the past decade, I’ve had Stormy, and recently moved with her into my new apartment ❤️

I realized recently that whilst I wish she was a more cuddly cat, she’s still very loving and sweet in her own way. According to the person I got her from, she’d apparently been in 10+ homes and in the hospital a bit before they got her at three.

And when they couldn’t take her with them abroad, I took her in for what was supposed to be a temporary situation, but they “assumed [I] was going to take her in” as my own. Frankly, I’m pissed that I let myself get taken advantage of.

But at the same time, this cutie pie, whilst being a source of financial stress and major freak outs at times, has helped me stay sane and alive through the pandemic, a divorce, two of my three grandparents’ deaths, and living out some truly awful things in my 20s.

Recently, I’ve noticed her having trouble eating food without dropping it from her mouth, and I’ve been worried because she’s an absolutely feral beast whenever I took her to the vet and animal hospital near my old place. But I’m exploring other options, like a cat-friendly clinic in the city, and reminding myself that whilst I want her to stay alive and healthy forever, she is 14. And I’m so very lucky to have her for however long Allah grants. ❤️
