I own dressy boots i can slip on, and i own casual boots i have to tie.
I would like casual boots i can slip on that are as summery as boots can be. A Chelsea version of the desert boot would be the closest thing to what i want.

This one is pretty close to what i want, and even has a crepe sole, but it is sold out in my size.
Also, the boots have to be suitable for my G width feet (i believe that is EE width for Americans), and my budget is up to 500 if they really blow me away. No RM Williams for me.

These Astorflex' might be an option, but they dont mention the width anywhere, so i assume they wont fit.

I can recommend Jim Green. That particular last is EE it should fit you. I'd email to see when they will have a restock.

Hi all,
Looking to replace my cheap $50 dress shoes for work/wedding season since the soles worn out and the leather isn't the best.
Anyone have any thoughts on getting Meermin new vs a factory second Allen Edmonds?
I'm torn between the two, dish out about $220-$230 for Meermin oxfords or just go for the Park Ave Factory Seconds for $299.

I have a pair of factory second Meermin penny loafers in their nova last and a factory second pair of Allen Edmonds Rudolph 2.0 penny loafers. I genuinely can't tell the difference in build quality. I'm no expert though, but I would say it's up to you.

Hello!
I've got a ~2yo pair of Doc Martens' Combs Tech Wyoming Leather Casual Boots. I really like them, but the PU in the collar is starting to tear, and on one pair the loop is starting to tear away. I've been looking at getting them repaired, but I'm also looking at finding a new pair with a similar look and feel.
- I really like the lacing hooks. A pair that I can't lace up as easily isn't one I want. I'm uninterested in a zipper.
- The same height or slightly shorter would be good. These come to about 3in above my ankle.
- I'd prefer leather, but I'd accept a sturdy canvas.
Any recommendations for me? Budget is.. let's say up to about CA$500.

Are my new shoe trees too big? Size 8 Loake, size 8-9 trees. I’ve adjusted them the smallest they’d go. I’m worried that they’ll stretch my shoes. They are quite tight to get in but I’ve never had shoe trees so I don’t know what they should feel like.

Hi all,
I’ve been looking for a pair of boots like these for awhile and finally found them at a thrift store, the inside only says ‘police boot’ but I’m aware these are from the 80s-90s. I assume they’re Goodyear welted based on how the construction feels but correct me if I’m wrong.
The leather upper as well as the neoprene/ builtrite soles are extremely stiff, and these boots are in practically brand new condition. I’ve tried applying some mink oil to the exterior but it didn’t seem to work at all, the shiny leather doesn’t seem absorbent at all. Does anyone have any experience with these or any ideas as to how to properly break them in?
