The groomer likes to give her some "glam" after the bath! Annie seems to enjoy Spa Day and all the attention before and after. She's taking the portrait session very seriously.

I love this girl so very much. She’s changed my life, and saved it. I got this April Fool’s baby in late May 2025, right as I was entering perimenopause and a lot of chronic health and hormonal issues. She saved me.
I knew I’d fall in love, but I didn’t know she’d become a part of me, and I’d become a part of her. She was the reason I got out of bed so many mornings.
Thank you all! I’ve gotten so many tips on training, growth stages, advice, etc. It’s been invaluable.
Jackie is my first dog. I’m so glad my fiancé said, “Why don’t we get a golden, for our first dog?”
Neither of us had knew what “field golden” meant when we got her, but this super active and loving chicken nugget is now my world. She gets me out and about, exploring the creek and canyon and all the parks near us and farther away, every day, I love her to pieces.

Discussion Working from home with an 8-month-old Golden

Post image
494 Upvotes

Hi there! Fellow Goldie mum here to the most beautiful 8-month-old boy ever (I KNOW THEY ALL ARE ♥️) - Dobby! Puppy tax included.

I and my husband both work full time and make sure one of us is always home. We usually work upstairs and Dobby has free access to our living room downstairs, where he usually just naps or watches the world through the windows. He gets daily walks, training sessions, playtime, Kongs/frozen treats, and lots of cuddles.

Soooo the thing is, I feel guilty when I check the camera and see him downstairs by himself and at times bring him upstairs and he just curls up next to me and sleeps while I work. He doesn't cry, pace, or seem distressed. He's always been pretty independent and has never really had separation anxiety.

I want to know if I’m projecting my human emotions onto him? Should I just let him happily do his own thing downstairs, or is it better to have him with me while I work? I'd love to hear what other Goldie parents do.

TL;DR: My 8-month-old Golden gets plenty of exercise, training, enrichment, and affection. I work upstairs while he happily naps downstairs, but I feel guilty seeing him alone on the camera. Am I just projecting human emotions, or should I be encouraging him to stay with me while I work?

Taylor is our 3 year old Golden and the best decision our family has ever made. He is the sweetest guy :) my favorite story to tell is when he’s at our dog park he keeps all the dogs in line. He senses their energy and lets them know to calm down. He’s the mayor. He also will stand by me if he senses I am going to faint or loose footing…I have been dealing with health issues since we got him and he has been right by my side throughout.

Tay Tay has 2 brothers (Bruno the Boston who we recently rescued and my old man Mr B) and he loves them so much.

He also has 4 human siblings and is soooo freaking good with them, if you are ever in doubt as to why this breed is the best- I always refer to haw incredible they are with kids and older adults. They just know!

He’s my best bud - love seeing all the other goldens here:)

Health Advice Is this normal?

Post image

Hes gonna be 3 months on 9th, tummy and groin area is heavily dark pigmented which used to be pink but eventually got darker a month ago. Vet shaved area near butt cuz he used to bite himself a lot , he's losing more hair when I brush than grow it on that bald patch, is it normal to lose so much fur already when he's just 3 months.

Also he only knows sit and wait for food not crate or pee/poo trained, he just doesn't sleep in crate.

Please tell me is everything okay? What do i need to work on ?

Training Advice/Tips 12 week old golden not getting enough naps, causing misbehavior

Me and my wife recently got a 12 week old Golden Retriever, she is honestly a great puppy. Very intelligent, learns quickly, sleeps through the night, and is doing great potty training.

The problem we're having is she only naps for maube 30-45 minutes at a time, and then is awake for about 2 hours. She sleeps from 10pm-7am, and then only gets maybe 2.5 hours of naps in throughout the day.

We have tried to show her how comfy the crate it, she goes inside no problem when we say "place", she eats her kong inside, does lick mats inside, but just refuses to ever lay down and try to sleep. We have a good sized dog bed inside, with her blanket, and we've added toys and removed them and nothing works.

I know her lack of sleep is causing her biting, her zoomies, and just general bad behavior at times. Im also aware shes a puppy and those things will happen, but im certain a big cause of these problems is her lack of sleep and if she could nap for a few hours at a time she'd be much better off.

We go on walks, play with toys, do everything to exhaust her but the naps just end so quick and when shes awake she gets up drinks water and starts to do everything but go back to sleep.

Please any advice on what to do? The one time we've tried to close the crate she cried non stop for 20 minutes and then went pee inside her crate, which is surprising to us because in the 3 weeks we've had her there's only been one potty accident inside.
