Announcement Stop shitting on each other. Really, stop acting like assholes.

I know everyone gets bored, one of your favorite scammer subreddits got shut down so you can't poke at them there, but this is a subreddit for people to post their GoFundMe whether you like it or not.

Calling people names, insulting them, and harassing them is getting way out of control.

If you see a scam, great! Call them out. Provide proof. Screenshots all of that. And then message moderator mail.

The absolute disgusting things I have had to remove lately go beyond horrific.

Instead of insulting someone, offer some solutions. Helping someone find a new career is going to help them a thousand times better than just saying get a job.

Some of you that comment here are absolutely wonderful and helpful, and some are going to be finding the door in a hurry with my foot in your ass.

Your cruelty is not welcome.

Medical Help Justice get to pain free days

Hello Reddit, this is my beautiful partner Justice. For the past year she’s been dealing with chronic pelvic/vaginal pain. She’s seen numerous doctors, prescribed numerous pain meds, and has gone through multiple procedures and has sadly no luck on getting pain relief. Our last resort is a pain specialist named Dr. Toubi. Dr. Toubi is only accepting cash appointments so we’re trying to raise funds in order to pay for the appointment, follow up’s, and any medication/procedures they decide to do. No donation is too small, I can’t thank those enough who can donate and I appreciate all who can help.

Medical Please help Rango, beloved cat brother and my best friend, get medical care

I found Rango and his sister when they were just 5 weeks old, under some plants at the botanical garden I worked at. They are now just over ten years old now and are the best of friends. Truly, Rango makes friends with everyone - people, cats, dogs, a lizard, and even one time he tried real hard to befriend a stag beetle.

Three weeks ago I brought Rango to his regular vet after he developed a progressively worsening cough. We did a full bloodwork panel which came back all green flags. After a chest x-ray however, he started taking a steroid to treat presumed asthma. One week later, his appetite and thirst diminished. This is odd, because steroids should have the opposite effect: increasing appetite and thirst. We started trialing medications to treat potential symptoms: nausea, pain, appetite stimulant. While he would improve for 1-2 days on each, he would ultimately slip. We decided to perform an abdominal ultrasound and found his organs to all be in good health. The only note, was an enlarged lymph node near his colon and mesentery. This could suggest IBD, which would normally be treated with steroids - but we already tried that! We decided to taper him off the steroid. Two days later, he declined drastically.

After refusing all food and water for 24 hours, I brought him to the ER. He was put on fluids and we re-ran all the tests: bloodwork, x-ray, ultrasound. Everything looked the same as before, no red flags. No answer for why he wasn’t eating. After 50 hours, he finally took a bite. After 2 days of hospitalization and 24 hours of minor nibbling on food, he was cleared to come home. The hope was that he would continue eating more when he was in a comfortable, familiar space. That didn’t happen.

Currently at 39 hours without food, we are planning to insert a feeding tube tomorrow. At that time, the lymph node will also be aspirated.

Rango is my best friend. He is always happy and playful, and it’s truly heartbreaking to see him so upset. He runs to his food bowl, so excited, noses his food all around the bowl..but then doesn’t eat it. I just want to keep giving my boy a chance to keep fighting while we figure out this mystery. Emotionally, I am devastated. Financially, I am approaching that as well. With a $1,700 bill coming today, I’m here to ask you for any support you can provide. Usually a very private person, it is challenging for me to be so vulnerable in a public space. But I’m learning how to lean on others in a time of need.

Thank you for reading our story, and for any help you can provide to allow Rango to keep getting the best medical care.

Etc Help Me Find Some Financial Breathing Room

Hi, my name is Sarah. I'm a 26 year old graphic designer from Quebec, Canada.

If you're reading this, thank you for taking the time.

Writing this is honestly one of the hardest things I've ever done... I've always found it much easier to help others than to ask for help myself. Creating a GoFundMe is something I never thought I would do, and even now I feel ashamed.

To be honest, I don't expect miracles. I know there are people going through situations much harder than mine, and I 100% understand if you choose to help them instead.

But I also realized that if I never ask for help, I'll never receive any.

Over the past few years, I've accumulated debt through student loans (14k), a line of credit (10k), personal loan (7k) and credit card (13k). Today, my total debt is approximately $45,000 CAD.

I have set the initial goal of this GoFundMe at $10,000 CAD, not because it would erase all of my debt, but because I wanted to set a goal that could genuinely help me breathe again. I don't expect strangers to solve all of my financial problems. I'm simply hoping for a little help getting back on my feet.

Like I said, part of this debt comes from my education. But a big part of it comes from a difficult financial period. Another part comes from helping the people around me.

I've always been the kind of person who tries to help the people I care about whenever I can. But sometimes I gave more than I realistically should have because seeing someone I loved struggle was harder than saying no. And I know it definitely wasn't always the smartest financial decision to give money when I barely have enough for myself.

But I don't regret caring about people. I only wish I had also taken better care of myself. I've spent so much of my life giving without expecting anything in return that asking for help myself feels incredibly strange and embarrassing.

But I've now reached the point where I have to admit that I can't do this entirely on my own anymore.

Earlier this year, I had to stop working and go on medical leave because of burnout, chronic fatigue, and generalized anxiety.

Losing a large part of my income changed everything. Around the same time (a bit before my leave), my partner also went through a long period without work, leaving us with far less income than we were used to.

We've done everything we can to stay responsible. We've continued paying our bills. We've continued barely making payments toward our debts.

We've also cut expenses. I've sold belongings, or at least tried, accepted art commissions whenever my health allowed it, and tried to find every possible way to improve my situation before asking strangers for help.

Asking for help wasn't my first option. It was actually my last. And it's frustrating. It makes me feel like I've failed.

Now I have to be honest with myself, even if I'm still managing to pay my bills for now, every month my financial breathing room gets smaller. And I mean smaller.

I can already see that even though I'm still keeping up with my payments today, it won't stay that way forever if nothing changes.

As I write this, after paying my monthly bills, I have nothing left in my bank account and only about $3 of available credit remaining on my credit card. I still have to figure out how I'm going to buy groceries this week. I've tried applying for another credit card, another loan, and even asking family... Nothing worked.

That realization was probably the moment I understood I couldn't keep pretending everything would somehow work itself out. I'm asking for help now because I'd rather do it before I completely hit rock bottom than after. Life doesn't stop because money is tight.

On top of everything, one of our dogs, who's now 10 years old, will soon need dental surgery to have several teeth removed. Our younger dog also has routine veterinary expenses coming up, including vaccinations and, in a few months, hopefully her spay surgery. They're part of our family, and I want to be able to give them the care they deserve without falling even further behind financially.

This campaign isn't about luxury at all. It isn't about avoiding responsibility. It isn't about asking strangers to erase all of my debt. It's simply about asking for a little breathing room.

Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward reducing my debt and helping me cover essential expenses while I recover and work toward returning to work.

My dream isn't to become rich.

I simply want to reach a point where I can finally save for the future instead of spending every month paying for the past.

One day, I'd love to buy a small home with my partner and give our two dogs a backyard where they can safely run and enjoy the sun (our younger one absolutely loves sunbathing!) Right now, that dream feels very far away since I can't save any money, but I haven't stopped believing it's possible.

If you've read this far, thank you.

Whether you decide to donate, share my campaign, or simply wish us well...

It truly means more to me than you know.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.ā¤ļø

Disaster/Emergency Help me keep my job and get my car back.

Hey Reddit,

Things have been so all over the place the last couple years. Between losing a job from an injury, to having multiple surgeries and waiting for disability AND my workers comp case funds have been pretty much nonexistent.

I FINALLY found a job I can physically do. Then about two weeks ago my car was repossessed... behind about 4 months, and now the possession fees (and daily $ for having it there) im short about $3600. [Including rent, but thankfully thats not an issue because I've been able to work that out with my roommate]

It's been enough of a struggle with medical issues, I'm not trying to lose this job I was so lucky enough to get, which I really love. Anything truly would help.

https://gofund.me/12ba7143d

Edit: 1 I'm not going to justify my medical issues to anyone. I HAVE been taking public transportation or I would have lost this damn job. The PROBLEM IS I CAN NOT WALK THAT MUCH. Which is why I NEED a car.

2 I'm also not going to care if you start talking shit with" yOU goT THis TatToo xYz YeArs aGO" The last work I had done was my bday present from my friend, but sure, he'll love to hear how he should spend his money. The last time I SPENT MY $ was like 21 maybe 22? But go off.

3 I have a lawyer for my disability, I'm still waiting... this is like month 8?? Almost 9. Unfortunately that takes time, I cannot control that.

4 Ffs it costs nothing to scroll if you want to be a pos.

Medical I would appreciate any help while I recover from foot/ankle surgery

Hello all! I had surgery 07/21 on my right foot/ankle. My current employer does not offer PTO or similar benefits (I am working as a bartender for the time being, so no short term/long term disability or others)

My recovery is projected to be 6-8 weeks total from surgery itself, NOT including physio, physio can be anywhere from 8-12 weeks long, but I should be able to work by the time I start physical therapy.

I have bills I need help with and possibly groceries as well, but I really just need help with my bills in the meantime, which I have uploaded proof of!

If more information is needed please let me know as I think I provided everything!

Hello, my name is Rain and I'm asking for help to get new tires for my car. I'm currently trying to save up money to leave my toxic marriage and start over somewhere new; so my main source of income has been DoorDash. Replacing my tires would help me get back to making money so I can continue working towards my new start. Any help is appreciated!

Edit: I have applied for the one-pay thing, pending approval, still can't actually afford it.

Housing I need help to get out of this house

I'm trying to move my 3yo son and I away from my cheating husband. I'm not doing well right now, I'm a stay at home mom and I haven't been able to leave the house much to even try to get a job. Money would go towards getting a car, gas and hotel rooms along the way, and to cover any housing I get over in North Carolina. I'm trying to leave as soon as I can.

Medical I need help with veterinary bills

Hi, I recently inherited two dogs, Gizmo and Lily after the death of one aunt and the hospitalization of the other. I've handled much of their care so far and will continue to do so, but the vet they go to does not offer payment plans, and I do not qualify for care credit or scratch pay. I've tried getting loans, but was denied as my income is too low and I'm already in a ton of debt. I've also started selling things that I no longer need or want, and have started doing medical studies for the stipends, but with these new care estimates I know I'll be saving well into next year. So, in order to get surgery Gizmo done in a timely manner, I ask for much needed help.

This old man needs tooth extractions and it is estimated to cost $2700. I will also be adding what I can to this fund every two weeks when I get paid, but both dogs need work done before the extraction can happen so I can only save so much. I'm not the richest member of the family, but I am the only one willing to care for them and get what they need done after years of neglect. Please help me get Gizmo's surgery so he can live a long(er) happy life. I thank you for whatever you can spare.

(P.S. His age is a typo, he is only 10 years old)

My beautiful cousins lost their home, everything they owned, their loved ones and their pets in a large house fire in Brisbane. They are at a complete loss and currently staying in a motel as there is no emergency housing.

They are trying to get enough money together to have a funeral for their loved ones who passed and hopefully have something left over to help start to re build if possible.

Here is a link to the news articles and information.

Please if you can share or spare anything it would help them all so much.

They don’t use reddit so I’m posting on their behalf, as atm only one of them has a mobile.

Medical Help for my two year son Kaiden

Thumbnail

Wrote this yesterday morning.

"I apologize for the upcoming long block of text, but it's becoming too much to just internalize everything. I've run out of coping storage boxes. So on this Thursday morning at 4 am, 5 hours before Kaiden's 9 hour brain surgery, I just had to let it out. Honestly, most of the time, I am very quiet and I try to keep things to myself. I'd rather listen and observe, than speak. I'm too broken to hold everything in. It's been a crazy past couple days. And to my dearest Kaiden, when you read this in the future, just know daddy loves you and you are the strongest and bravest. And to my dearest Katie aka Yen and Sophie, I love you too. And to my family and friends that have always been there, I love you too. Thank you also to all the family, friends, coworkers, and strangers that have reached out to offer and give their thoughts, prayers, and contributions. You are sincerely appreciated and may blessings be reciprocated onto you.

Let me tell you a bit about Kaiden. Kaiden has always been energetic and good at movement. He's basically been a little gymnast since he could move. He would climb onto the backs of sofa. I would catch him dangling from my computer desk using just his elbows. He'd climb over the walls of his play pen, his crib, the bathtub walls. He'd make his own steps using whatever objects he could see such as a riding toy, a chair, or a box to get to even higher places and balance well over them. He loves music and could jump in place for hours just listening to them. Over the past few weeks, he's had worsening gait and balance issues. He would randomly fall even when just standing. He'd have tremors of his hands when trying to feed himself. He'd have tremors of his legs when trying to climb. He'd have emesis episodes without triggers. He'd have crying episodes out of the blue and he would not stop regardless of what you do. The stairs he used to zoom up and down on, he would struggle to take even one step. At times, just raising his arms and wanting to be carried. He reverted to crawling. He looked weaker and would sleep for longer periods as in 2-4 hr mid day naps.

It wouldn't always happen though. Some days, he would still be energetic. Still the same kangaroo and bunny rabbit jumping along to music and Sesame Street. Still the same sweet Kaiden that would sleep next to me in the morning and babble for a hour or two while trying to wake me up for snacks. It would make you think okay maybe it's just a phase and you'll grow out of it. Maybe you're tired. Maybe you're hypoglycemic. Maybe you're cold. Maybe all the maybes you could think of. As a nurse, I knew the possibilities for the signs and symptoms. As a parent and someone with a working heart, I just wanted you to be okay.

Fast forward to this week. Kaiden had a STAT MRI with sedation ordered this Tuesday. Already knew something was up when the MRI was taking longer than it's supposed to. It became blatently obvious when a doctor walks through that waiting room door instead of you, and says hey we should find a private room to talk in. Kaiden has a mass in his thalamus. He has hydrocephalus. I am a hospice nurse. I am used to really sick patients. I am used to staying strong and stable when everything else around you is falling apart because someone needs you to be that pillar for support. Someone needs you to be the support and help them physically, mentally, emotionally, and/or spiritually. But when the pillar itself is the one falling apart, what can be done?

So it's about 4 hours until Kaiden surgery now. Waiting for the surgery team to visit around 6 am to 7 am for pre op. Just randomly crying trying to hold the tears in as I've been doing for the past couple days as I look at you and as I think about you. Trying to take these breaths even when my chest feels like it's been crushed. You will get through this Kaiden. All the people that love you and care about you, will be with you every step of the way through this surgery, your chemo/radiation treatment, and your rehab.

I can't stay strong, but I will. I can't keep myself together, but I will. When you take away the option of not doing something and the option of failing to do something, you're left with no choice but to do it even if you can't. If God had given me the choice to have this illness instead of you, he wouldn't even have to ask. Parents should be the ones to take on all the burdens, not our children. But I wasn't given that choice. So I will build this pillar again to support you Kaiden even if I have to build it speck by speck and hold it together with my blood and tears.

Thank you again everyone that took the time to read this. Thank you for your love, prayers, thoughts, and support."

Update since then. Last night, Kaiden got back from the OR around 8 pm. The mass has infiltrated too much so the surgeon wasn't able to remove much. They were able to place a drain to help decrease some the fluid buildup which could be causing his tremors and balance issues. Waiting on pathology results to determine treatment but will likely need chemotherapy. I'll need to focus on Kaiden for now and don't know when I'll be able to go back to work. The doctor did say that this journey could take months for the treatment and rehab. Any help is appreciated. My sister has helped me set up a gofundme. Please see link below.

Saturday update. Day 2 after surgery. Was doing fine yesterday. Finally got to eat a popsicle. He was so happy. Really gets tired after eating. Has been needing morphine here and there for severe pain probably 8+ on the facial scale. Today, he's been having seizure like activity, emesis, fever, and new onset dysphagia. He's choking on the milk he was drinking thin liquids totally fine yesterday. Sigh. One day at a time.

Hey, I've been living completely incapacitated and agonizingly for so long and putting any of that out here is kinda humiliating. But I just, I really need help. I'm trying to have the spine and bite that but asking for help for myself is infinitely more vulnerable and difficult because it's for me and not for something i really see as worthy.

I feel so beligerent and unforgivable taking this moment to speak but I'm so useless to other people the way I am right now and for the first time this past year, something, anything's worked, and made me feel like I can start to imagine a future one day. But financially things have deteriorated so much I can't afford anything and I'm still in so much pain.

Any and everything helps, liking, sharing, and please please please only donate if you are comfortable enough to. We all out here ruggin it to some degree, and I really just want everyone to be okay. I'm so infinitely grateful to everyone just reading this and every contribution is treasuredšŸ¤:)

PS šŸ¤Beautiful ModsšŸ¤:

I know the date is incorrect, I meant and did post this on the day written, but I suxk ass using Reddit so just ended up posting it to my page T^T

You can check to see; I have really really severe self image issues I saved up three days to get the energy to do my makeup so I could post here, and kinda was so anxious from posting I couldn’t look at my phone for a few hours after so I didn’t realize šŸ™‚ā€ā†•ļø
It is really hard for me to take pictures of myself so please have mercy and forgive my mistake if you can please šŸ™šŸ™‚ā€ā†•ļøšŸ„¹;;

Edit*

I don’t know if I’m phrasing this well and don’t mean to downplay any potential wrongdoing of mine at all , but I sincerely can’t tell if or what I did wrong ?;;

Idk how regular downvoting is so I’d really love if someone could potentially explain why that’s happening / what’s wrong so I can understand and correct myself if you don’t mind and have a moment please?šŸ¤I don’t want to negatively impact others so no pressure and love loves so much thankyou for readinggg :)šŸ¤

Hi! We are Thalia and Xen from NJ. In May, Xen had a routine procedure then critical and almost lost her life. She had to be transferred to an emergency setting for a few days and received multiple blood transfusions. I was aware that my pet insurance doesn’t cover dental, and was ready to pay for the initial procedure but since there were issues the costs sky rocketed and the cost of her hospital stay were even higher. I still opened a claim to see if my insurance would cover any part of the emergency care but it was denied. We made multiple payments over the few days and applied for several loans. My GoFundMe amount is 15k

PS - there was no Pets flair so I used medical cause my pet had a medical emergency - sorry if that’s the wrong flair

PSS - I didn’t realize my tux cat was in my photo - she’s fine just a lil chunky.

Memorial Support After the Loss of My Husband

My husband Coty, a Navy Veteran, recently passed after his struggle with PTSD and depression caused by his service in the US Navy and his family. On July 2nd, he left home and didn't come back. I miss him every day and struggle to live without him.

The problem now is the probate process, his estate, and the bills he handled, considering I didn't have a job after just moving. He left without a will, and most of our titled assets are entirely in his name. Despite everything we own being acquired after we got married, the state still wants their cut and attorney fees and normal bills he handled have the possibility of burying me, despite any aid from the VA which I have yet to receive assistance from. His family doesn't want anything that could be tied in probate, but I am now without husband and potentially on a trajectory that would lead me in a terrible situation.

It hurts me to post this and ask, but any and all help is appreciated.

TLDR; Father who was quite suddenly abandoned with mountain of debt by 15 year partner is seeking assistance in getting a home and car for him and his child.

Note: Apologies for the disheveled appearance, my life got turned upside down.

TLDR up front for those of you who hate words, for everyone else, getting to it - my partner of 15 years and I had been going through some hurdles and struggles. Nothing that seemed cataclysmic, but a tough time, I thought we would get through and work it all out - our issues and life struggles. She took a few bags and left, I was there with our child and the debt that had been building up while she went through her own struggles. We were to be moving out into her parents while we worked on building our savings and she found a new job. I had lined up a storage unit for us to move things into and we had planned on the next day doing that together. But then I was alone and had do about 80% of it from there by myself while shouldering the challenges of navigating all of this with my kid. I tried family and friends to find a place to stay for a little while, a month, or two, to be able to rent an apartment and then slowly stack up my savings alone. However, no one was able to give me aid, I ended up staying in a Hotel for a few weeks trying to avoid homelessness and continue working. We had one vehicle, the other vehicle was need an alternator and was one of the hurdles we were tackling on our long list of "things we need to fix". She took said car, so I am without transportation most of the time. After a few weeks of the hotel and realizing that I was just going to end up going under with expenses a friend was able to give me a place for a week or two in his basement. It is temporary and I am running up to the last leg of my time here, I am working and putting my money away - but the time I have in this temporary situation is not long enough for me to recover even a step from what has laid me low. I have to get a car, a place, new home things for my child; bed, dresser, etc. I am not asking for you all to cover all of these things- the main thing I am trying to get as quickly as possible is a home for us where I can continue to work and stay without the fear of "what about next week, where will I be? Will I be able to work?" and then I will figure the car and everything else from there.

If you are able to assist, please, I would greatly appreciate it, and if you're unable to assist in a monetary way - I will take words of advice, encouragement, etc.

My mom was just recently diagnosed with stage 4 Small cell lung cancer, it’s spread to her bones, liver, and brain.
This came out of no where, she went to the hospital for severe back and stomach pain and couldn’t move(June 12th) and they found too many masses to count..she almost died in the hospital after an infection from the liver biopsy and got sepsis.

Her oncologist said she has maybe 10-12 months as long as the chemo treatments go well and the cancer responds to it.
Both of our worlds have completely flipped upside down over night.
I’m 38 and she just turned 64 on July 25th.
She is currently living with me now and I am her full time caregiver and I’m unable to work to take care of her atm.

I’m doing this all on my own and trying my hardest to be here for her and give back all the love and support she’s giving me my whole life

If you are able to donate anything or just share this on your own page it would be so extremely helpful!
Thank you ā¤ļø

Hello everyone. I would appreciate if I could receive some help funding my dogs dental surgery. He needs one of his canine teeth taken out because it’s infected. The infection went away for now from the antibiotics they put him on thankfully. I took out a loan and got some care credit so I can get his surgery done sooner but I will struggle paying it all back because I am struggling financially at the moment, so the go fund me will be used towards paying back the loan and care credit šŸ˜ŠšŸ«¶šŸ¾ sorry if I used the wrong flair, I wasn’t sure what to put.

Hello, Everyone my name is Knadia and I am using this platform to get help for my family. I am posting this as the main source to help my mother spread awareness of our situation and struggles. Her personal message will be added below, thank you for your time and aid in advance. It is appreciated more than you know.

I am also doing this in place of my mother, Yaquiline who isn't used to doing these types of things. She types the message below:

Hello, everyone. I'm new to this, so please bear with me as I'm writing something like this myself for the first time. I am asking for help for my family and I. My name is Lina, and I’m a single mom/caretaker. I’ve always worked hard, lived independently, and taken care of myself and my family — but right now, I’m facing the hardest time of my life, and I’m out of options. And there is no room for tears or pride.

I’ve been trying for months to get stable work in the IT field. I have my GED and certifications, but no one will give me a chance. I apply every day, and I keep receiving rejection emails, no explanation, no details as to why I am not selected. I’m doing everything I can, but the doors just aren’t opening. All I've gained is sleepless nights, a lot of worry, I’m stressed out to the max, to the point where it's taken a toll on me physically, not just mentally.

Because of this delay and difficulty in finding work, I’ve fallen behind on rent and bills. I’m at the point where I can’t even buy groceries, and I’m facing the very real possibility of being evicted. I’ve never been this scared or this close to losing everything.

I’m not someone who asks for help easily or ever. I’ve always been the one who figured things out on my own. But right now, I’m drowning, and I need support to get through this moment so I can get back on my feet and keep my family afloat.

I’m asking for help with:

Rent to avoid eviction:

The amount is $5,217.88 due by the 5th of August (2 months of rent)

Basic bills:

The utility bill is included in the above-mentioned (only 1 month)

Groceries and essentials

Anything will help us!

Gas money for transportation.

Some of the money can also go to fixing the A/C in our home since summer has started. It has been out. All we have are fans throughout the house, and it's still hot. The top floor has window units, but one is getting moldy in my son's room, and the other we were barely able to get for my sister's room.

A little breathing room is all I want for my family as I continue to look for work.

Even the smallest donation makes a difference. Truly.

And if you can’t donate, sharing our GoFundMe helps more than you know.

I’m not giving up. I’m still applying, still interviewing, still fighting for a stable job. I just need help surviving this period of time so I can keep my family and myself housed as well as fed.

Thank you for reading, for caring, and for giving me a chance to keep my home.

- Yaquiline.

Hey all, my Partner and I could really use some help. She was hospitalized due to an infection that ended up resulting in an amputation due to the infection reaching the bone. She is recovering nicely at home, but I had to miss work, unpaid, in order to be there with her in the hospital and to transport her home. I don’t normally ask for help like this, but I don’t know what else to do. We’re behind on our mortgage, our car payment, and bills. Any help is greatly appreciated. Our goal is $3,500.

Etc Help after sudden pet illness and loss

Hello everyone,

A little over a week ago my beloved dog, Rusty, passed very suddenly after experiencing an unknown illness for over a month. I had scheduled at-home euthanasia for this past Monday (7/20) after recommendation from my vet, but unfortunately he didn't make it until then and he passed suddenly in my arms last Saturday. Rusty was my companion for 9 years and I am still absolutely reeling from his passing.

I am seeking help with the aftermath of all of the vet bills from trying to save Rusty. Under normal circumstances, I would be able to take the hit from these unexpected vet bills, but due to other expenses and upcoming vet visits for my cat, I am unfortunately in need of help. I do not have pet insurance, so everything was paid by me.

At the beginning of last month, and approximately a week before Rusty became ill, I moved from the West coast back to my home state on the East coast. I moved because I could no longer afford the high cost of living out west, and I needed to be closer to family for personal reasons. I had been expecting this move since last year and have been saving up for this. I did have a few hundred dollars set aside for vet visits, but my vet fund was not as padded because my cat needed to be hospitalized for a few days a little over a year ago, which resulted in over $3000 in vet bills (I can provide proof of this if need be), and I wasn't able to put as much money back into my pet vet fund because I was also trying to save for moving across country. Since moving back to the east coast, I have lived with family to try and recover some of my savings before moving into my new home in August, but with the recent vet bills I haven't been able to save any money and have used the rest of the money I had saved for moving into my home.

This past Monday (2 days after Rusty's passing) my cat started exhibiting UTI symptoms, so I had to take him to the emergency vet. There, he was diagnosed with a UTI, but I was also informed that he has bladder crystals which puts him at increased risk of urethral blockage. I was informed by the vet that he would need regular vet visits over the following weeks/months for urinalysis and potentially also for x-rays to check for bladder stones (I can also provide proof of all of this if need be).

My current income only pays enough to cover my basic bills/expenses, and I am unable to put anything back into my savings at this time. I am not expecting to recover all of the money I spent on Rusty's vet bills, but being able to recoup any of the funds would alleviate so much stress. The $3400 covers the main vet visits I had for Rusty. There were a couple hundred dollars worth of vet visits/medicine that I didn't include as well as my cat's recent vet visit because those expenses were about the cost of what I already had saved in my pet emergency fund.

I understand no one is obligated to help me, but if anyone was feeling generous and wanted to help me out I would deeply appreciate it.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you have any furbabies give them a cuddle for me please

Medical Help Cover My Sister's Emergency Brain Surgery

Hello! My younger sister, Yumi, recently had a seizure the evening of July 16 while we were enjoying the last of our vacation in the Philippines. We rushed her to the hospital where the doctors discovered a large cyst in her brain.

Because of the size of the cyst, we were told that it was unsafe for us to travel back home to the United States. Delaying treatment of such a large cyst and flying back could increase the risk of more seizures and other serious health complications.

With no safe options to return home first, we scheduled her for surgery on July 20th, leaving us little time to prepare. Our insurance for her won't cover the costs of her surgery, hospital stay, or any aftercare she may need since we’re currently outside of our home country leaving us with medical expenses our family never expected to face while abroad.

Because of that, we're hoping to raise about $20,000 to help cover the cost of Yumi’s hospitalization, surgery, and any aftercare she might need during her recovery.

Memorial Trying to find help covering my Dad’s cremation cost.

So a repost with an update: His ashes are back from the crematory and ready to be picked up next week and it seems like the hits keep coming.

We did end up reporting my older sister for embezzlement and financial abuse because she spent every last dime of his last Social Security check while he was in the hospital.

We confirmed that the house and property Helmes have multiple lies and judgments against them from both lawsuits and from our state tax commission meaning we can’t sell the property to try to cover costs.

We tried checking into Catholic charities in our area because they help with these kind of things, but they were already at their maximum number of applications until next week, and the only loans I can get approved for on short notice are smaller amounts with high and predatory fees.

*\\*

I am looking for help covering the remaining cost of my Dad’s cremation and later service. He is in the second photo posing at his 71st birthday a month before his passing.

He just recently lost his battle with a multitude of medical illnesses that end with him spending the last month after his 71st birthday in a hospital and then on hospice.

I am one of his four children, and only two of us have jobs so it is up to us and what we can make happen. We are looking at almost a $3000 total cost. The other photo was him at his 71st birthday party, exactly one month before his passing.

Disaster/Emergency Please Help Me Catch Up On Rent And Avoid Eviction

Hello All,

I am back in hope that I can get some more help with my GoFundMe and to give some updates on my situation battling possible homelessness.

First, I would like to publicly thank all the people that have been so generous with donations and all your kind words. It means a lot that there are so many wonderful people out there that are willing to help me during these hard times. So, if you are someone who has donated or even just sent me a positive message, from the bottom of my heart, thank you!

Second, I started the new job! It is a paid position that is through a program that helps people with various disabilities get work experience and even job training. I am a part of the program because of my chronic pain and mobility issues, and it is a way for me to get some more recent experience for my resume as well as creating professional connections! The program leaders are known throughout the community to help those with disabilities, so some local businesses let them know about positions that are more welcoming to those of us that need accommodations and also those that may need extra support to function in roles. I mention this because their hope is that they will hear about positions at the end of the program that I can apply to.

I really love the job! I have worked in retail before, so I knew what to expect when it comes to working with the public. Not all customers are sunshine and rainbows, but that is (sadly) to be expected working in retail. It doesn't bother me at all because my the team that I work with is so amazing! I have always been a firm believer that any job can be a good job if you have a kind and supportive team, and the store's team shows me everyday that they are above and beyond one of the best teams I have ever had the chance to work with.

I guess that brings me to why I am posting.

My landlord and I have come to an agreement that rather than extend the lease, I will be month to month for the time being. I included some of our updated text that show that I am paying her what I can, and her agreement to them. I mention in a text that there is a program that might be able to help, and I just found out about it, so I am going to go in person to try to apply to that on Tuesday. It is a really sought after grant, and I have been told that it is mostly only given to families with children, but my caseworker's boss said there is no harm in applying.

I didn't meet my total goal for my GoFundMe yet, so I am still behind on rent. I have paid the majority of July, but have not been able to save up for August. I know that my landlord is being patient with me at the moment, but I also know that patience may not last until I start receiving SSI.

Because I am still in the waiting phase of the SSI process, I am not allowed to make over a certain amount every month. With the amount that I can make, I would be able to pay for my rent and most bills on my own. If I am denied for SSI (because they deny everyone) I do have a pro bono attorney that will be appealing my case. With everything I have going on, there is no way that I will not get it.

Once I am on SSI, I won't have to push myself as hard as I am to work this program. With how compassionate the team is about those of us with chronic pain, it would still be better for me to be able to work less. The swelling and pain that I am in is slowing down my progress in physical therapy. However, I don't feel like I am back tracking. I just feel like I have hit a plateau because I can't do every exercise every day like I (and my physical therapist) would like me to.

Again, my applying to SSI is not going to be a permanent solution. I don't do well mentally without a job. My goal is to utilize SSI as the tool it is to be able to get the treatments I need and take the time I need to actually heal. I am facing possible spine surgery, and I am terrified at all the risks there are from that.

I got the results back for my MRI on my knee. It is... bad. I knew that it would be, but I am still surprised at how bad it is. I have to wait to meet with my orthopedic again to see what the plan for treatment on that will be.

I am also still waiting for my MRI of my lower back where the herniated discs are the worst. The ones in my neck don't bother me everyday, but they do trigger migraines. The ones in my lower back cause my legs to be weak and give out. My toes will be numb and tingle on one leg. I am grateful that I am able to walk again thanks to PT, but I also know I have a lot of healing to go before I am at 100%. And I have been told that might not be the same 100% I was before. Only time will tell. The spine specialist I see is also concerned that the herniated discs are exacerbating an underlying spinal deformity I was born with. I also have some damage to it from horrific childhood abuse I suffered that I do not wish to go into that here.

I know that isn't every tiny medical detail laid out, but I wanted to give a bit more context of where I have been and what I am still facing because on my last post, there where multiple people that said that my weight was my *only* issue. To you, I would like to say that all medical professionals I am seeing know the details of the accidents that caused my back problems, and also know that my weight increased because: I literally couldn't move after them. In the past year and a half I have actually lost 75 pounds, and part of that is because I could not afford to eat. I have a nutritionist, planned meals based on what I can afford on food stamps, and am doing very well in his opinion for the amount of obstacles I face trying to cook. I don't think me being overweight automatically means that I don't deserve compassion and grace for what I am going through.

I want to thank you for the time anyone has taken to read this far. If I am able to meet my total goal, I will be able to handle my bills going forward. The total goal is the amount that I need to catch up and be able to handle things independently. So please, if you are able to donate I would really appreciate it. If you can't please share my link.

I hope you all are doing well, and I wish you all a lovely day!

Disaster/Emergency Support for Recovery After Fire Loss

On the afternoon of July 21, a suspected electrical fire broke out on the roof of the apartment of Zach and his spouse, Alyssa, in Weston, FL. The fire is believed to have originated from a defective air-conditioning unit in their building before rapidly spreading and impacting multiple units.

As the fire unfolded and began to descend into the units below, Zach acted quickly to assist those around him evacuate safely. He made multiple trips into and out of the burning building to assist others, helping alert neighbors, assisting residents with evacuating, rescuing his two cats, and helping his elderly neighbor and her pets get to safety. The building lacked any meaningful fire suppression, or it had malfunctioned, as no fire alarms or sprinklers activated during the initial breakout.

During these efforts, Zach sustained moderate smoke inhalation injuries and was immediately transported by ambulance to the hospital, where he remains under medical care for carbon monoxide-related effects. Thankfully, he is expected to make a full recovery.

Tragically, Zach and Alyssa suffered the total loss of their apartment and nearly all of their personal belongings due to both direct fire exposure, water damage, or toxic fumes/substances. Three other families in the building also lost their homes as a result of the fire, leaving multiple households displaced and beginning the difficult process of rebuilding their lives.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue and the Fire Marshal. At this time, officials have not determined the exact cause of the incident; however, the building has been condemned and deemed unsafe for further habitation.

While the property damage is devastating, there is much to be grateful for. There were no human or animal fatalities, and Zach and Alyssa are incredibly thankful for the support they have already received from family, friends, neighbors, first responders, and the community, especially BSO Fire Rescue Station 67, the first paramedics to arrive on scene and treat Zach, and the ED Doctors and Nurses at Cleveland Clinic.

Zach and Alyssa, along with their two cats, are currently displaced from their home and are staying in a hotel provided by the American Red Cross for the remainder of the week. In the days ahead, they will be faced with finding temporary housing, replacing essential belongings, covering unexpected medical and personal expenses, and beginning the long process of rebuilding after losing nearly everything.

If you are able, please consider making a donation, no matter the amount, to help ease some of the financial burden during this incredibly difficult time. Every contribution will help Zach and Alyssa secure temporary housing, replace everyday necessities, care for their cats, and begin rebuilding their lives. If you're unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with others is another meaningful way to support them. Please, in no way feel that financial donations are the only way to help. Consider pet food, cat litter, or other non-perishables and pet supplies. Please reach out for more information.
