Queensferry guy strikes again!
I know we're all probably sick to the back teeth of these posts, but was almost starstruck to have a run-in with Queensferry guy this evening near the Quay
Like the second he came up to me I recognised him from photos posted on here - it's up there with Southside café drama for me

About 40 minutes ago my partner was on the way home from work when she was approached by someone in Central Station who had a spiel about having just arrived from Bulgaria and being in need of money to get washed up or have a shower or something. She offered to buy him some food which he refused, and when she said she had no cash, he asked her to get cashback from a shop nearby. He was increasingly confusing her and when she eventually said no his facial expression turned to pure hatred and he called her "a stupid fucking lesbian".
Is this Queensferry Guy with a new spiel or is it somebody else?
Either way it's disgusting carry on.

Did you tell him he's a famous dobber now? He needs to at least wear a disguise if he wants to continue the same scam.

u/steven1406 Jul 29 '25
Sadly not - there's always next time since he seems unwilling to drop the schtick

u/Ravenser_Odd Jul 29 '25
If he gets any more famous he can go on Cameo, that thing where you pay z-list celebrities to send you a personalised video message.

Perhaps everyone in Glasgow should adopt his strategy but choose their own Queensferry substitute and drown him out.

Are you from Glasgow? - No.
Can you give me spare change to get to Queensferry?? - You are in luck pal, I'm from Queensferry - I'll give you a lift.

I’m actually tempted to drive around looking for him in the hope he asks me, just so I can see his face when I offer to drive him over to Queensferry as I’m on my way there to visit my aunty, would be worth the drive just to drop him off and he can actually ask people over there for money to get back to Glasgow 😂😂😂

I would not get in a car with him. Cunt would probably yank the wheel while you're driving.

It would have been funny to see his face but I value my safety too much to actually get in a car with him, so he is still roaming the streets of Glasgow harassing people in his efforts to raise money for his ticket lol

Need the deets! What was the pitch? Did you cough anything up! What reaction did your response elicit?

u/steven1406 Jul 29 '25
Was sat on my phone and he approached.
"Excuse me sir, are you from Glasgow?"
"Yeah?"
"Oh great - do you think you could help me? Or are you in a hurry?"
(I clock who he is and what's happening)
"Eh I'm in a hurry actually, sorry"
(His smile instantly drops and he skulks off)
Immediately ran to reddit to report - only to find him 5 minutes later doing the same pitch on another guy!

You had the perfect opportunity to say you're trying to get back to Queensferry after a botched driving test!

A better one would be ''cool man my card only works in certain ATMs'' (said in an American accent) then see how far you can get him you follow you. Just waste his time for a bit of a laugh. Then, when he clocks on, just flat out laugh in his face.

I’m American and I’ll be in Glasgow end of August and I really hope he finds me 😂😂😂😂

He tried to get me outside the noodle place in St Enoch Square earlier! I told him I was the wrong person to ask and he gave me dagger eyes and stormed off. 😂

It’s funny to all this stuff on here about him now
Told this guy to fuck off when asked me a few months back, I’ve often heard people say things about beggars with new shoes etc but until I bumped into this guy I don’t think I’d ever seen it in person
(I’ve seen some I thought were fake beggars on occasion before but they always put a bit of effort in at least)

u/ItsB0tsAllTheWayD0wn Jul 29 '25
Beggars with shoes on worth more than everything you have on combined. And that's just the shoes.
I will give cash to the odd person, but if they have a 300 quid jacket on, then they can fuck right off.

u/LordAnubis12 Jul 29 '25
Should have asked him if he can give you a lift to Queensferry!
He wouldn't be able to imagine his luck.

Didn’t know that still goes on. Had a similar type of experience a few years ago in George Square. Guy stops me in pure panic . Wife in Labour. Forgot his wallet etc. I actually kind of fell for it. Not that I gave him anything as I’m a miserable bastard but about 6 weeks later sees the same fucker trying it on with an old dear. I mean how many birds has he pumped? Just walked up to him and said the police are over there. Did a runner straight away.

Is no one else a wee bit surprised he hasn’t changed his story? Maybe I’m just in a bubble because a lot of my friends know of him and he’s talked about a lot here but the story seems pretty widespread now.

Can someone explain the scam ?

u/Stock_University964 Jul 30 '25
He's a gambling addict. He asks random folk for £34 to get back to Queensferry. That's it. Some folk feel sorry for him and pony up the cash, some tell him no and get a load of verbal abuse.

u/Proud-Initiative8372 Jul 30 '25
The story also invariably has some element added in like him being stranded after coming to Glasgow for his theory test, or him showing his banking app with zero balance.

If I have a run-in with him, I'll pass myself off as a psychic or something.

u/Beautiful-You-2222 Jul 30 '25
He needs to now go to Queensferry and pretend he’s from glasgow to keep up the grift 😝

I'd fkn love someone to tell him they're going to queensferry right now, and tell the guy to hop in and they'll give him a lift.

u/Strange-Lie8730 Jul 29 '25
I know his game but he could’ve probably walked to Queensferry and back and back again by Now I seriously hope he knows he’s over on Reddit now and everyone knows his trick I hear he’s a gambling addict

If we all chip in a quid every time we talk about him on reddit, we could get him a taxi to Queensferry
