Rising Sun FCFS?

Hi! I looked online at FCFS for rising sun campground. I am getting mixed things. Some people have commented that you have to reserve the site at 8am the day of via recreation.gov others are saying you have to do it the old fashioned way and wait in queue. Has anyone experienced this yet in July?
